We provide post-surgical care to cancer patients (such as mastectomy products and compression garments). We have an immediate opening at our new office in the Cool Springs area. Only female applicants may be considered due to nature of work. Typical day includes patient fittings, charts/paperwork, and phone/email consults/scheduling with patients. 3+ years of experience in a medical office or comparable is preferred, but we will train anyone bright and willing to learn. Job description HOUSING SPECIALIST: (MUST HAVE SHELTER EXPERIENCE) About Us: Working with a non-profit organization dedicated to managing homeless shelters throughout New York City. We are currently seeking motivated individuals to join their team in various boroughs. Housing Specialist: In the role of Housing Specialist, you will: -Assist Independent Living Specialists and Housing Retention Specialist to obtain supportive housing for clients. -Escort clients to medical-, benefits, and housing-related appointments. -Compile, copy, and distribute HRA2010e housing packets. -Issue residency letters and client appointment reminders; document client interactions and advocacy in CARES and AWARDS. -You will be responsible for all aspects of assigned case load, including meeting with clients on a regular basis and ensuring that all clinical files and reports are complete and up to date. -You are committed to engaging individuals in a client-centered approach and providing services and referrals to address the varied housing needs of individuals experiencing homelessness, for tracking trends in housing placements and orienting clients with the housing group. -You will also secure entitlements, maintain correspondence relating to housing interviews and vacancies, as well as assist clients to coordinate their move with landlords and other internal personal and external agencies. -You will be responsible for serving as a liaison with DHS and other providers to facilitate the housing process for clients. -You will provide housing retention services once clients have been placed. -You will participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences. -You will provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties as assigned. Minimum two years’ experience working with homeless, mentally ill, or MICA population required, Computer skills, Written and verbal skills, HS Diploma/GED required - this will be verified.
