We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Line Cook to join our dynamic team at Niku X, a modern Japanese steakhouse in Manhattan. The ideal candidate will support our chefs and kitchen staff in ensuring smooth daily operations while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, organization, and food quality. Key Responsibilities: Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation, such as washing, cutting, and portioning ingredients. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment, workstations, and storage areas. Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools properly. Receive, stock, and organize food deliveries; rotate inventory to ensure freshness. Dispose of waste and recycling according to health and safety guidelines. Support kitchen staff during busy service periods to ensure efficiency. Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards. Perform other tasks as assigned by chefs or kitchen supervisors. Qualifications: Previous kitchen or restaurant experience preferred but not required—training will be provided. Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Strong teamwork and communication skills. Willingness to learn and take direction from senior kitchen staff. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
