CypherSpot Sessions (starting soon) is a grassroots community program created in and for Staten Island (but open to all), rooted in the foundational elements of true HipHop: DJing, breaking, house dance, popping, locking, art, and rhyming. This will be a space for creativity, growth, unity, and self-expression — not about clout or social media likes. This is for the love of HipHop, humanity, peace, and friendship. It’s about real connection — showing up, learning together, building confidence, and forming bonds through shared purpose and expression. About me: I’ve worked as a DJ for clubs, private events, and weddings. I’ve taught scratching and self-taught myself music production (Pro Tools, Native Instruments), video editing (Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer), motion graphics (After Effects), and 3D animation (Blender) — all by watching hundreds of hours of YouTube and hands-on trial and error. I know firsthand that where there’s a will, there’s a way. The approach: This is goal-based learning. We’re not here to force people through a cookie-cutter curriculum or gate-keep. It’s about understanding what someone wants to accomplish — whether it’s scratching a beat, writing a verse, nailing a dance move, or sketching a picture that’s in their head — and working together to get them there. What matters is taking that first step no matter how far it seems from the goal, staying curious, and continuing to show up. I’m not here to tell people what to do — I’m here to bring everyone together to make this happen. If you’re unsure how to teach, I can help you learn how to break things down into clear, digestible steps that focus on the “why” behind each move or technique, not just telling people to “do it like this.” That understanding — the purpose behind the technique — is what builds real comprehension, creativity, and growth. Mistakes, trial, and error are all part of the process. That’s how people build real skill, real confidence, and grow into well-rounded creators and human beings. We’re looking for: • Skilled, passionate volunteers to teach DJing, dance (especially breaking/house), visual art, or rhyming • Staten Island locals strongly preferred (but all are welcome to apply) • People open to teaching all ages — parents will be required to accompany minors • Background checks will be required for safety • No formal teaching experience needed — just the ability to break down what you know and be patient What to know: There’s no timeline yet (but sooner than later) and no money involved right now. This is about the love of culture, humanity, and building something meaningful from the ground up. If this grows, the goal is to eventually pay instructors and expand programming. How to apply: Please send a link with a sample of your work or skill (audio, video, portfolio, etc.) and let me know your area of interest. Even if you’ve never taught before, if you’ve got the skill and a willingness to break it down, we can work together. Let’s build something real — for the love of HipHop, for the people, and for the future of humanity.
