About the Role We are hiring a General Manager in Training to join us in the early stage of our build out and launch. This is a unique opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a new dispensary and grow into the full General Manager role over the coming months. You’ll start in a flexible part-time role (10–15 hours per week) focused on training, local research, compliance prep, and build out support. Once we are ready to open our doors, this role will transition to full-time with salaried compensation and full operational responsibilities. This is not just a job—it’s a leadership path. You’ll become the face of the store, responsible for building the team, managing day-to-day operations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and creating a best-in-class customer experience. What You’ll Do (Training Phase) • Learn New York State cannabis retail regulations and dispensary’s SOPs • Work alongside ownership to support store build out, opening tasks, and community outreach • Assist with pre-opening vendor selection, ordering systems, POS setup, and policy creation • Begin training on dispensary technology, compliance, and operations • Attend meetings with our social media and web development teams What You’ll Do (Full General Manager Role) • Lead and coach the retail team with a focus on service, compliance, and sales performance • Oversee all aspects of store operations: scheduling, inventory, cash handling, security, and compliance • Cultivate a customer-first culture and ensure an inclusive and welcoming retail experience • Maintain accurate records, manage audits, and serve as liaison with regulators • Monitor KPIs and implement strategies to drive growth and community impact Who You Are • You’re organized, resourceful, and excited to grow with a startup dispensary • You have a strong sense of ownership and a passion for cannabis, retail, and/or hospitality • You’re a natural leader with the ability to coach others, solve problems, and get things done • You communicate clearly, listen well, and are comfortable working independently and collaboratively • You’re excited to roll up your sleeves and be part of something local, community-driven, and mission-aligned • You have a good sense of humor and don’t cause drama Requirements • Must be at least 21 years old • Able to work on-site in Rockaway Beach (local preferred) • Availability to work evenings and weekends once store opens • Prior experience in cannabis, retail, and/or hospitality strongly preferred • Must be able to pass all required state background checks Compensation & Growth • Part-Time: $350/week for approx. 10–15 hours/week during pre-opening phase • Full-Time: Transition to salaried position upon opening (with full operational responsibilities) • Opportunity to build a team and lead a business from day one • Training and mentorship from experienced retail operators How to Apply PLEASE USE THIS LINK: https://app-elb.pushoperations.com/ats/job-postings/9e1d93d6-b7de-4017-992e-2848c1783439/public or Please respond with your resume and a cover letter telling us why you're excited about working at a cannabis dispensary, and if you believe in aliens.
