Job Summary: The Service Helper assists the lead with completing residential electrical work on homes before and after homeowners move in. Ensuring all electrical is properly functioning in the new home. Duties/Responsibilities: Warranty Calls •Able to assist the lead with troubleshooting and repairing homeowners’ electrical issues. •Ensuring all homes we enter are left clean of all debris, material etc. from our warranty calls. •Ability to help lead with the handling of dissatisfied homeowners and deescalate situations regarding frustration of call etc. Duties/Responsibilities: Hot Checks •Able to assist the lead with accurately completing “Hot Checks” prior to final inspection and homeowner closing. •Must learn the knowledge in energizing and deenergizing homes. •Assist lead with confirming all equipment is properly installed and functional. •Able to assist in troubleshooting any faulty equipment, circuit, and breakers. •Must communicate with the lead, service manager and supervisor regarding any issues that arise during “Hot Checks”. •Ensure the home is left in “move in” condition. (Clean) Duties/Responsibilities: Punch Lists •Must be able to assist in completing Punch List – A punch list is a quality checklist from the builder of the homeowner of any issues identified during the walk through. •Must be able to assist with troubleshooting and reading blueprints/ floor plans. •Must communicate with the lead and manager regarding any issues that arise. Required Skills/Abilities: •Willing to learn electrical trade knowledge for all aspects of residential electrical. •Willing to learn to read prints and scale to ensure placement of fixtures, receptacles, switches, etc. •Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. •Willing to learn specialty tool use – i.e. Jack Hammer, Generator, Multimeter, Toner. •Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Education and Experience: •High school diploma or GED preferred. •Must learn electrical safety knowledge. (Lock Out Tag Out) Physical Requirements: •Prolonged periods of standing, kneeling, bending, crouching, crawling, and climbing ladders. •Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits. •Must be able to work in hot and confined spaces (attic work). •Must be able to use hand and power tools for extended periods of time. •Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Safety and You: •Must wear proper work shoes or boots while on the job site. •Must wear all PPE required while on the job site. •Must inspect all power tools daily or prior to use. •Must ask a manager for any PPE needed or in need of replacement (i.e. gloves, glasses, ear plugs) •This position requires work on a “Hot House”.
