Job Title: Manufacturing Manager – Functional Foods & Dietary Supplements
Overview
360 Labs (https://360labs.com/) is seeking a Manufacturing Manager with a strong foundation in functional food and dietary supplement production and hands-on technical/mechanical expertise. This role is responsible for overseeing day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production efficiency, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate blends leadership, process knowledge, and mechanical problem-solving to drive operational excellence in a dynamic, fast-growing industry.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Operations Management
• Oversee all aspects of manufacturing for functional food and supplement product lines.
• Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors, operators, and maintenance teams.
• Ensure production schedules are met while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize workflow, minimize downtime, and reduce waste.
Technical & Mechanical Expertise
• Apply strong mechanical knowledge to oversee and troubleshoot equipment such as:
• Blenders, mixers, granulators, encapsulators, tablet presses, coating machines, dryers, and packaging lines.
• Partner with maintenance teams to implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Support equipment installation, upgrades, and validation for new product lines.
• Ensure production machinery is calibrated and optimized for consistent product quality.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure all operations comply with cGMP, FDA, NSF, SQF, HACCP, and other applicable regulations.
• Collaborate with QA and R&D teams to support product scale-up and launch activities.
• Maintain documentation, SOPs, and records required for audits and inspections.
• Uphold the highest standards of food safety, cleanliness, and workplace safety.
Strategic & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Work closely with Supply Chain, R&D, and Quality to align production capacity with demand.
• Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and cost-saving initiatives.
• Provide technical insights during equipment selection and facility expansions.
Qualifications
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• Experience:
o 7+ years in food, supplement, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
o 3+ years in a management or leadership role.
o Proven mechanical/technical expertise with manufacturing equipment.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work cross-functionally.
Preferred Skills
• Familiarity with tablet presses, encapsulation, blending, and high-speed packaging lines.
• Experience implementing lean manufacturing or Six Sigma practices.
• Knowledge of CMMS systems and automation technologies.
• Ability to train and inspire teams with hands-on technical knowledge.
