Position Description FCI Construction structures all roles as having (3) CORE FUNCTIONS that each have (3) SUPPORT FUNCTIONS. Our job postings and reviews will evaluate candidates (and employees) according to these functions. COLLABORATION: How well can you work as a team? This includes collaborating with labor, management, design team, and owners. It takes a team effort to meet our objectives and how you collaborate will impact how successful we are. DOCUMENTATION : How well do you keep up on completing the required documentation to assure the project is completed and limits the risk to the project success. This includes daily field reports, safety reporting, email documentation, updating field conditions, and short term schedules. CONFLICT RESOLUTION: When conflict arises it is the goal of FCI to reach a timely resolution that protects the interest of FCI both short term and long term. Sometimes this means finding compromise that allows all parties to move forward as a team. Seek solutions that allow for a win-win. OWNERSHIP: FCI aims to practice extreme ownership of our work. COST CONTROL: How well can you manage your resources and efforts to meet the cost objectives of the role͍. This takes thoughtfulness, creativity, and intentional effort to find the best solutions to meet targets. EXPERIENCE - Experience at FCI has a dual meaning-- experience related to time and experience related to encounters. Utilize your experience in controlling project constraints to assure that all project partners have a good experience while working with FCI. DOCUMENTATION - How well do you document the progress and effort on a project related to the costs and expenses incurred so the project budget can be accurately and properly monitored and cost risks managed? LABOR MANAGEMENT - Utilize your knowledge and skills to effectively manage and communicate to labor on the project to complete tasks in sequence, on time, and within budget. Help facilitate the success of our labor pool through SCHEDULING: How well do you control and manage the resources (both self-performed and project contractors) to meet and exceed schedule expectations. This is done through effective documentation, planning, and communication. SUBCONTRACTOR MANAGEMENT - Use your relationships, knowledge, and (as needed) contractual knowledge, to assure all contractors and suppliers are meeting the schedule, quality, and safety requirements to complete the project. This includes knowledge of their scope of work and continuous assessments of their progress and performance. PLANNING & FORESIGHT - How well can you avoid bottlenecks of manpower, coordination, material, or equipment. Use look ahead schedules and thorough documentation to assure you are prepared ahead of time as each task arises. OWNER RELATIONSHIPS - How well do you communicate progress, expectations, and needs to the owner to assure they are in the loop and also feel engaged in the project to maintain their comfort. We rely heavily on repeat clients to maintain our work and you are the frontline for making sure the experience they have on our projects is a good one. Communication and follow through are key. JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Irrigation Specialist (Essential) Department: Golf Maintenance Supervisor: Assistant Golf Course Superintendent Position Type: Non-Exempt Pay: $27 - $28 per hour OVERVIEW: The Irrigation Technician, under the supervision of the Assistant Golf Course Superintendent (AGCS), is responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of the golf course irrigation system and its properties. This person will offer expertise and aid in maintenance of landscape irrigation systems where needed. This position is considered an Essential position and is required to be on-site during emergency events as designated by Glacier management in accordance with handbook procedures. This position requires a can-do attitude with the ability to strategically problem solve. ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 1. Assists AGCS in the programming, operation and maintenance of the central irrigation computer system and applicable satellites. 2. Conducts morning evaluation of golf course irrigation, including pump station checks to determine previous irrigation cycle success. 3. Records daily water usage from pump stations for comparison and logs. 4. Evaluates proper operation of all pump stations and communicates with AGCS as to required work and preventative maintenance. 5. Maintains and repairs the installed golf course irrigation system, including heads, pipe, valves, wire, etc. 6. Supervises and participates in additional irrigation installations and drainage projects. 7. Conducts winterization and start-up of irrigation system and pump stations. 8. Works with Water Plant operators to ensure adequate allocation of water needs and aesthetic quality of all ponds on property. 9. Supervises and directs a changing labor force when needed (i.e. hand watering, installations, etc.). 10. Communicates with AGCS to schedule manpower and resources with regards to irrigation needs. 11. Advises on other irrigation systems on site (clubhouse, landscape, domestic, etc.). 12. Keeps inventory of all irrigation parts, fittings, and accessories. 13. Operates specialized equipment, such as trencher, skid steer, and backhoe. 14. Reports any irregularities in course turf quality to AGCS. 15. Participates in snow removal activities including scheduling, procedures, cleanup, preparation, and implementation. 16. Performs other duties as directed by supervisor. QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High school diploma or equivalent is required. 2. Physical activity is moderate to demanding and will require bending, kneeling, and lifting. 3. Must be able to lift and carry up to 70 pounds. 4. Must be able to use hand and power tools, such as a shovel or a chainsaw. 5. Must be able to walk the golf course, hand dig holes or trenches with a shovel, and sit on and operate golf carts, utility vehicles, tractors, and mowers. 6.
