Pioneer Design Group (PDG) is an established professional consulting firm comprised of Land Use Planners, Civil Engineers, Landscape Architects, Land Surveyors, and Construction Management staff. Pioneer Design Group primarily provides comprehensive professional services for the completion of residential, commercial, industrial and mixed use site development projects in Oregon We are currently seeking a Survey Manager/Project Surveyor for our Portland, Oregon office. Responsibilities • Manage the survey group and associated work to meet project goals. • Prepare cost estimates and contract proposals for survey related work. • Prepare required maps to facilitate successful outcomes for clients. These will include, but are not limited to, boundary surveys, partitions and subdivisions, topographic maps, miscellaneous exhibits, mortgage surveys, and NSPS/ALTA Surveys. • Prepare professional level documents which require licensure in the State of Oregon. • Oversee scheduling and budgets to ensure deadlines are met cost effectively. • Procure additional survey staff and survey equipment as needed. The candidate will also be responsible for overseeing survey staff, budgets and quality control. The Survey Manager will be the prime point of contact for clients, jurisdictional staff, and other Project Managers within PDG. Experience & Qualifications Required • Licensed as a Professional Land Surveyor in Oregon for 5 plus years. • Thorough understanding of boundary resolution and demonstrated experience successfully filing boundary surveys for the purpose of establishing subdivision boundaries. • Thorough understanding of Oregon platting statutes and demonstrated experience successfully preparing and filing subdivision plats • Thorough understanding of jurisdictional processes and standards for boundary surveys, partitions, and subdivisions. • Thorough understanding of survey staking standards and principles. • Expertise preparing topographic mapping. • Strong client relationship management skills. • Successful experience judiciously supervising junior staff. • Possess effective oral and written communication skills. • Proficiency using Civil 3D to create topographic maps and surfaces. • Proficiency using Civil 3D to create boundary surveys and subdivision plats. • Thorough understanding of easements, property descriptions, and engineering plans. The ideal candidate should be able to clearly communicate within teams with several technical and specialty disciplines. Experience in working with residential high-end projects and the ability to multitask your supporting efforts will help you excel in this job. Work Responsibilities ● The BIM & VDC Coordination Engineer is expected to provide coordination skills in support of the creation of detailed and accurate BIM models. ● This position will set the course for the digital delivery, coordination and collaboration of project teams within a large and fast-moving project. This includes working with peers, consultants, discipline leads and executive management through the numerous efforts within the master project(s). ● Introduce, support, and oversee the implementation of industry leading BIM technology. ● The ideal candidate will be responsible for proper setup, maintenance and review of design efforts. This may involve 8-10 (or more) design and engineering disciplines that are located both on and off premises. ● This person will be directly responsible for the coordination of the design produced by the Engineering Team, Trade Contractors, and other third-party vendors under their direction. ● This person will work with engineers, trades, and design professionals to develop an integrated model delivery approach and lead clash detection sessions with a focus on optimizing the construction process and driving quality and value. ● The ideal candidate will identify conflicts with Architectural, Structural and other MEP design elements. ● Scope of responsibility will include overall accuracy & completeness of the models, physical & operational spatial coordination, and timely implementation and resolution of any issues according to an aggressive schedule.
