The Broadway Wine Merchants is the longest standing wine bar in Eugene, Oregon. We have been located in the Oakway Center for 14 years and have been fortunate enough to become a gathering place for many in the community. Our wine bar and café are ideal for spending some quality downtime with your friends, exploring a variety of gourmet wine and food pairings. Our menu includes an alternating selection of beer, cider, and bistro foods intentionally selected to complement our wines. Currently managed and staffed by a small team, we are seeking to hire a talented and enthusiastic person to join our wine bar staff as a server. This position will often represent the first impression we make on our customers and is therefore very important for our brand. As a primary focus, this person will work with the rest of the Broadway staff to provide our customers a welcoming, educational, and memorable experience. This will include educating them on wines we pour by the glass, the food we offer, communicating upcoming events, club memberships, etc – all while providing warm and friendly service. Wine bar roles include hosting, serving, bussing, selling wine, bartending and dishwashing are all shared and rotated among staff and throughout shifts. We have a need for several shifts per week (some day and some evening shifts). Weekend availability is necessary (we are closed Sundays). Responsibilities: -Work in all front of house roles at the wine bar, a casual table service environment while maintaining professionalism -Host – greeting and seating customers, introducing them to The Broadway and who we are -Server/busser – educating customers on our wines and our story, taking and delivering orders for food and drinks, bussing and sanitizing tables between customers -Bartender/food prep – pouring beer & wine, assist in preparation of The Broadway’s food menu when needed -Provide a consistent and pleasant customer experience -Respond to basic wine questions and customer support requests -Assist in daily bistro duties including opening and closing, restocking, cleaning, etc. Required Qualifications: -Passion for customer service, wine, and memorable food and beverage experiences -Professional, warm, and welcoming personal presentation -Self-motivated and able to act independently -Team player enthusiastic about working together to grow a small company -Availability to work evenings, some days shifts, most weekends and holidays (We are closed Sundays).
