Qualifications / Requirements: • Flux Core or MIG welding experience. • An ability to train in all aspects of heavy structural steel welding and fabrication, with the primary use of Flux Core processes in welding operations. • GMC trains employees extensively, so eagerness, energy, and desire to build a career are most important, and result in opportunities and advancement. • 10 hour shifts (M-F) with some 8 hour Saturday shifts are common, and a shift incentive is paid to the select employees working on GMC’s 2nd Shift. Daily Job responsibilities • Inspect and verify incoming/IPQA / FQA materials, components, and parts according to established procedures and specifications. • Documenting and reporting quality on parts produced. • Must be familiar with basic QA equipment’s like, calipers, rulers’ micrometers, microscopes etc. • Conduct visual inspections, measurements, and functional tests to identify defects, damage, or deviations from specifications. • Document inspection results accurately and maintain detailed records of incoming material inspections. • Communicate with managers or supervisors to address quality issues, discrepancies, or non-conformities found during inspections. • Manage daily cleaning and upkeep of the quality equipment and work environment. • Communicating well with other team members to help solve problems. • Follow managers directions for perform any additional jobs to help QA or other departments. You’ll program and run parts using Mastercam, set up jobs, troubleshoot tooling and hold tight tolerances for small-run and production parts. This position is responsible for performing daily in-process inspections on the production floor to ensure parts meet all customer and internal specifications. Additional responsibilities include receiving inspection of purchased materials and outsourced processes to verify compliance with quality standards and manufacturing requirements. Key Responsibilities: • Perform daily in-process inspections on small, intricate parts (lengths ranging from 0.25” to 4.00”; material thickness from 0.002” to 0.063”) with tight tolerances (+/- 0.002” to +/- 0.010”). • Conduct First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspections. • Complete and maintain inspection reports, Corrective Actions, Certificates of Conformance, and other customer-required quality documentation. • Inspect incoming materials, outsource parts, and certifications. • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical comparators, and Keyence measurement system. • Read and interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings. • Collaborate with production and office personnel to address nonconformances. Qualifications: • Minimum 5 years of experience in quality inspection within a precision sheet metal manufacturing environment. • Strong knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). • Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management System. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). • Experience with CAD software such as Deltacad or SolidWorks is preferred. • High school diploma or equivalent. • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
