Supervisor – Food & Nutritional Product Manufacturing We are seeking a motivated and experienced Supervisor to oversee food & nutritional product manufacturing runs. The ideal candidate will ensure operations are timely, profitable, safe, and compliant with company, quality, food safety, and regulatory standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise daily production runs and ensure compliance with company policies and food safety regulations. Plan, schedule, and manage production phases as a working manager. Train, mentor, and evaluate employees under direct supervision. Coordinate with Warehouse, QA, and Production Managers to allocate labor, equipment, and materials. Monitor progress, review job cost reports, and identify areas for improvement. Ensure safety, hygiene, and cleanliness of the work area and enforce proper lockout/tagout procedures. Oversee accurate and timely completion of all job-related paperwork and reports. Inspect materials, tools, and equipment for accuracy, quality, and safety compliance. Foster teamwork, maintain morale, and ensure proper training and orientation for new staff. Attend required meetings and represent the company positively to employees, auditors, customers, and visitors. Qualifications Supervisory/leadership experience in food or nutritional product manufacturing required. Strong knowledge of food safety, compliance, and production standards. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to train, mentor, and build strong teams. Hands-on manager willing to work alongside the team. SUMMARY: Receives raw materials from railroad cars and delivers material in proper mixtures to hoppers in the storage area. Regrinds faulty product for re-use as raw materials. Ensures proper mixture of new and reground material. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: • Achieves daily quota for production. • Cleans surfaces and machines located in the Raw Materials Department. • Transfers raw materials from transportation containers through mechanical receiving systems to hoppers, blenders or tumblers. Mixes, by formula, additional raw materials including pigments, reground material and chemical agents to achieve and transfer appropriate blended material for use in injection molding machines. • Writes hopper labels describing the weight of the material and the weight of pigment contained in the material. • Operates the regrind machine to grind rejected products into raw material and operates the metal detector on the material to ensure it is clean and ready for reuse. • Reads production schedule to determine amounts of virgin and reground material that is needed to meet the production plan. • Performs minor maintenance on machines. Requirements Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Effectively communicate in both written and oral forms. Read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization. Calculate amounts in percentages and fractions, including multiplication and division of fractions. Apply concepts of basic algebra. Basic knowledge of the metric system.
