Batching Assistant Van Nuys, CA Full time Temp to hire Monday thru Friday - 6am to 2:30pm $19hr to $21hr depending on experience. Summary: Working as part of the Manufacturing & Operations team and under the supervision of the Chief Batching Officer, the Batching Assistant will operate equipment that blends raw materials to create food and beverage products by weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients to client specifications. As needed, the Batching Assistant will also cross-train as a Production Support to operate and/or assist with production lines, including but not limited to the high-speed canning/beverage production line, the bottle filling production line, powder flavor-making production line, and labeling line to create, produce and package products while working on a team. Responsibilities: • Assist, provides support, and/or carries out: Precisely stages kits and verifies physical ingredients to match the ingredients on batch sheets according to the product recipes. • Collaborate with Quality Compliance Technician on the analytical results and makes modifications or adjustments to the batches when needed (i.e. Brix, Acid, pH, color). • Ensure resulting mixture meets specified consistencies and requirements; Report any urgent quality, food safety incidents, or deviations immediately to Chief Batching Officer or Quality team for investigation and resolution. • Accurately weighing or measuring all ingredients per formulation. • Accurately documents lot numbers, quantities, and expiration dates on formulas per customer regulations. Quality • Perform set-up of batching area, including tools and equipment needed. • Perform physical inventory of materials before and after production and document • Communicate any ingredient availability or ingredient quality issues immediately to the Processing Supervisor. • Perform cleaning and sanitation of batching equipment and fillers (CIP’s, foaming equipment and hand brushing). • Properly clean and seal all ingredient containers prior to returning to the proper ingredient storage areas. • Adhere to all food safety policies and procedures. • Operate forklift to load/move various ingredients, following all safety procedures. • Maintain general housekeeping and quality in all areas of batching, production, and any additional areas. • Accurately completes inspection sheets based on overall product quality. • Provide status report during shift handoff (batches produced, quality and results of batching) • Must have proficient knowledge of the batching flow to production. • Report non-compliance and food safety issues to management. • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time in a manufacturing environment. • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, must use appropriate means to accomplish this, using pallet jack and/or forklift, as necessary. • Ability to visually inspect products and materials. Qualifications: • A high school diploma or equivalent. • 1-2 years prior experience in batching in food and beverage industry. • Able to be physically active for the duration of the workday. • Forklift experience.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES •           Directs production Work Order execution with prioritization from Production Manager, coordinates supporting equipment setup and line clearance operations, and team activities for equipment preventative maintenance. •           Participates in Production Planning meetings to provide Work Order execution status and scheduling updates. •           Participates hands-on in IM&A activities including work order execution, process equipment setup and shut down operations, mold/material/tooling changes, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and required quality assurance activities. •           Sustains on-going training and development of IM&A team members on all injection molding and machine automation processes, along with required quality assurance inspections to confirm production parts meet LEMO quality standards and dimensional requirements per drawings. •           Monitors processes at start up, production, and shut down to ensure the proper operation of injection molding and over-molding machines, automated pin insertion machines, and other IM&A work area process equipment. •           Collaborates with Engineering and Quality to investigate root causes of molding and secondary operation issues; helps with implementing corrective actions and process control plans. •           Provides input and participates in continuous improvement projects on cycle time reduction, process and machine up-time improvements, and scrap/waste reduction •           Follows all policies and work rules including but not limited to safety, 5S (housekeeping), Lean Manufacturing practices and quality systems •           Assists with new mold samples, verifies that process parameters are set per the process qualification documentation, collects and provides requested documentation of results. •           Other duties as assigned See job posting for more specific details and job qualifications. Job Summary: The Loading Dock Worker position has a variety of different assignments which are assigned based on the training level of the employee and business needs in support of achieving the goals of the Concord, NH Warehouse. This job description is meant to serve as an outline of the duties and responsibilities that a Loading Dock Worker may be required to perform during the course of their work-day. Hours: 9am to 5.30pm Days off: Saturday off + 1 rotative day off. Essential Functions: Review load sheets for delivery routes and verify correct product(s) and amounts are loaded to assigned trailers. Rotate product in warehouse to ensure that the correct coded product is shipped to eliminate waste and minimize returns. Continuously check for and remove damaged goods to ensure that only quality product is being shipped to customers. Load each product according to assigned specification/diagram safely using a variety of motorized equipment such as pushers, squeeze trucks, fork trucks and pallet jacks. Ensure that the proper load bars are in place and the loads are evenly distributed. Send loads that are accurate while maintaining a pace that is efficient. Accurately identify, select/pick inventory for loading and staging based on customer load sheets. This process may involve “picking” corrugated and un-corrugated product (up to 45 lbs) from shelves, pushing/pulling of 7’ high cases of products (up to 200 lbs) and other packaged and un-packaged product. Process also includes placing products on wheeled racks 5 ½ feet high and moving throughout warehouse. Unload trucks/trailers using a hook or pallet jack. Physical labor involved in this activity varies, but can involve pushing/pulling 7 high milk cases (up to 200 lbs) and metal racks (800 lbs). Pull empty and full milk cases stacked 7 high (up to 200 lbs) with repetition. Manually remove product from conveyor system, then package and/or stage in an efficient manner to maintain production flow requirements. Dispose of returned product by manually dumping into disposal system using repetitive motion.  Wash trailers/trucks after unloading empty cases. Work in a cooperative manner with managers, supervisors and peers. General: Follow all company safety policies and procedures. Able to demonstrate knowledge of safety areas reviewed in the safety orientation program. Execute assigned duties with minimal supervision. Available for required overtime to support business needs and/or critical situations. Perform assigned duties satisfactorily and in a timely manner.
