INSERTING MACHINE OPERATOR IV - 2ND SHIFT Giesecke+Devrient is a growing, German international security technology company operating in the fields of digital security, financial platforms, and currency technology. Our Mega Site located in Bolingbrook Illinois is a state-of-the art, clean, air-conditioned facility running three shifts. Job Summary: We are seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join the G+D team in our secure Bolingbrook, IL facility. 2nd shift will work Monday through Friday 2pm-10pm. The Inserting Machine Operator IV will prepare, supply and operation production machines in the Personalization Department within the High Security Area. Duties & Essential Job Functions: Prepare, supply and operate the production machines during the production process and monitor relevant stages to ensure that products are manufactured or assembled according to established parameters. Understand the entire range of functions as well as the operating sequence of the machine. Load materials on the machine in the order they are to be placed on the table. Read job specifications and previous run data to determine machine parameters and material. Ensure proper Lockout/Tag-out procedures have been followed before performing maintenance on the machine. Meet or exceed job standards for line speeds, scrap, and set-up times. Load and unload stock. Report any necessary maintenance issues to the Maintenance Department. Work cooperatively with the Quality Assurance department to ensure products meet specifications. Confirm required documentation / data is completed accurately and timely. Occasionally verify material conformance to specification, using measuring devices such as micrometers, tape measures and/or calipers. Maintain cleanliness of work area and equipment. Verify that guards at pinch points and potential burn areas are present before operating the machine. Perform proper and thorough inspections. Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures. Take immediate action to correct safety and security issues. Complete preventative maintenance requirements; follows manufacturer's instructions; troubleshoots malfunctions. Perform related job duties as assigned by supervisor. Required Skills & Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience running production machine in a manufacturing environment. Requires eyesight correctable to 20/20 to operate equipment. Requires normal color perception. Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Able to focus and perform precision hand movements when operating a machine. Reason through problems involving set-up and operation. Physical Requirements & Work Environment: Regular exposure to machinery noise; ear protection may be required. Fast-paced production floor requiring prolonged periods of standing and operation of machinery. Requires working on hard floor - regular standing, walking, bending, squatting, twisting and stooping. Requires the ability to lift 50 pounds regularly and be able to work around machinery. Regular and consistent attendance, including overtime whether on a voluntary or mandatory basis. Requires visual acuity to operate a computer, read a computer screen, read policies and manuals. Requires manual dexterity to operate a computer, phone, fax, and scanner. Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen prior to employment.
