Colossus, a cozy and vibrant cafe in San Pedro, CA, is seeking an experienced General Manager to help us deliver outstanding service and maintain our reputation as a neighborhood favorite.   What You'll Be Doing ●     Oversight/management of all staff, mentorship, and indirect management of other staff members through example ●     Giving verbal and written warnings to employees when needed ●     Conducting 6 month and 1-year reviews of direct employees ●     Attend weekly manager meetings to review current food costs, general upkeep, staffing and culture. Contribute constructive feedback and solutions to further a culture of community hospitality, tolerance and cooperation, and collaborative growth for the company, our customers, and our community. ●     Upkeep and monitoring of all cafe equipment, regular communication with other leaders and owners regarding upkeep, including: ○     Espresso Machine and Grinders ○     Batch Brewer ○     Refrigeration and Ice Machine ○     Cafe Furniture and general appearance and upkeep of dining room, retail wall, and bread/pastry display. ●     Manager responsible for baristas and service staff: ○     Daily schedule ○     Cleaning tasks/side work ○     Break Schedule, ensure employees take lunch breaks and 10-minute breaks when needed ○     Uniform Compliance ○     Customer service performance ○     General job performance ●     Ensure that all labor numbers fit into the appropriate budget for Colossus and the sustained growth and prosperity of the restaurant long term. ●     Review timesheets weekly and ensure they are accurate in time for payroll. ●     Participate in the interview and hiring process. Cashier We are a a fast-food restaurant in Santa Monica. We hire infrequently and we hope you will work here for years. About the job: Cashiers handle cash, receipts, and invoices. They will operate a POS System and meet the customer for most of their shift; they may do a half hour of paperwork, take inventory, and scan documents. May have to cook for half an hour some days to allow cook's break. Meet with The General Manager almost every day. Scheduling: Two day and three night shifts a week are available. Mon-Tues 7:45am to 3pm, Wed-Thurs 3pm to 10:15pm Fri 6pm to 2:30am. Your choice of two, three or five shifts. The successful candidate will: Cut and paste their resume into the body of an email Have a Food Handler’s Certificate High School or equivalent. Experience handling cash. Experience cooking, though you will almost never have to cook. Experience with inventory and ordering. Strong English skills. Spanish speaking a plus. Compensation: 22 dollars an hour including tips. 23 dollars after 90 days.
