IN A NUTSHELL: This is a full time hourly position, joining the back-of-house team of our Wise Sons Deli in the Mission, reporting to the Kitchen Manager. Schedule (at the moment) Friday through Tuesday 2:30pm-9:00pm. Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 2 years experience working in professional kitchens, is passionate about food and cooking, and believes in giving guests the best experience possible. Line cooks are responsible for preparing and cooking all menu items and specials offered at their specific unit. Other responsibilities include executing catering orders, washing dishes, food prep, and maintaining a clean and organized work space. Teamwork is crucial to our organization and line cooks are expected to jump in wherever necessary to get the job done. This may mean working expo, bussing tables, or mopping the walk-in refrigerator. Job Description: The cleanliness of all seating areas throughout the market including - communal tables, kiosk counters, bar tables and outdoor patios. Ensuring all areas will be constantly monitored so that guest trays and it’s contents can be cleared and promptly clean tables/countertops for reuse. Transporting plateware, silverware, glassware and trays to the dish wash area on a regular basis, ensuring that all items can be cleaned and ready for service. Keeping all concessions stocked with the plateware, silverware, napkins and trays that they require for service. The general tidiness and cleanliness of all foot flow areas around communal tables, in front of concessions and all bars. Sweeping should be conducted on a scheduled basis, as well as on an as needed basis. Restrooms will be checked for cleanliness and replenished with supplies on a regular basis. Spillage will be a regular occurrence, and for the hazard of slips and falls, it will need to be dealt with promptly. If you come across a spill, alert a manager and remain by the spill until assistance arrives with mop/dry cloths. A wooden “caution wet floor” sign should also be displayed during and after cleaning spillage.
