Fire Life Safety Director (FLSD) in Manhattan $25/hr. to start. Pay increase upon passing FDNY onsite and having a NYS Security Guard License. Manhattan office building. Two Positions Monday to Friday 8a-4p. 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday 5p-12a 35 hours per week We are hiring an FLSD who is fully certified with an active T89 or F89 Certificate of Fitness (and you would ONLY need to pass our onsite at the building after hiring) Applicants who have passed an "FDNY on site test" at a location previously. Preference to those candidates who also hold a valid NYS Security Guard License. Position Summary Reporting to a Watch Commander, the DPS Shift Supervisor is a full-time, uniformed, unarmed university employee responsible for supervising contract security officers who supplement DPS staffing, including providing training, issuing assignments and reviewing quality of work. The Shift Supervisor also assists with patrolling the campus grounds and campus buildings, such as University Hall, to ensure a safe environment for students, faculty, staff and visitors. As an employee of the Department of Public Safety, you will be required to work during designated days/peak periods. These days and periods, which can extend for several weeks during peak times such as summer, are critical for staffing needs and operational requirements. During these periods, employees are expected to be available for duty without the ability to request time off. Additionally, you may be called in and expected to respond during your scheduled days off, and you will receive appropriate compensation for this additional work.
