Description

Visitor Services Representatives (VSR) are the first point of contact for visitors to the San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles (Museum). VSRs are responsible for welcoming guests into the museum and providing information about the exhibitions. VSRs observe how visitors feel about and interact with our space and listen to what visitors have to say about their experience. We are currently seeking to fill a part time Visitor Services Representative role. To be successful, each member of the Visitor Services team should: Provide outstanding customer service: greet and acknowledge each visitor Maintain knowledge and share information on the current exhibitions with visitors, as well as remind visitors of museum guidelines Promote upcoming events, programs and membership opportunities to visitors. Encourage visitors to subscribe to our e-news, become a member and engage with the museum’s social media channels. Utilize Square to process admissions, memberships, and gift store purchases Maintain knowledge of store items and discounts available and help visitors find unique items Maintain an organized and stocked front desk and store Assist the Museum Director with donor and membership programs Other duties as assigned Required Qualifications Experience and/or interest in quilt art, textile arts, or museum administration and services 1+ year customer service Preferred Qualifications Working knowledge of Square Status: Part-time (15-22 hours per week), non-exempt Rate: $24.00/hour Reports to: Museum Director To apply, submit a cover letter and resume to kris@sj-mqt.org. The amount of the stipend depends on the support needs of each Individual and how much care they need. The more support they need, the higher the monthly stipend. You will receive support from Enriching Lives to assist you in providing services in your own home such as initial and continuing education, the support of a multidisciplinary team, 24 hour on call professional support, and overnight relief support. Enriching Lives staff will visit you and the Individual regularly to provide support and ensure that the Individual’s goals are being met. At a minimum, you must have 1-2 spare bedrooms, a safe and pleasant living environment, reliable transportation, a high school diploma or GED and a designated backup Family Home Provider. All adult members of the household and frequent visitors to the home must have a clear criminal history and a DMV record without any major violations. Enriching Lives is highly committed to making successful matches and placements in the home of people who become Family Home Providers with our agency. While there are never guarantees for placements, our success rate is extremely high.
