Responsibilities: Clean and prepare vacant apartments for new residents Maintain cleanliness of hallways, entryways, and common areas Assist with general cleaning tasks around the property and office areas Pick up trash and maintain overall appearance of the grounds Follow cleaning schedules and complete tasks in a timely manner Report any maintenance or safety issues to management Qualifications: Previous cleaning, housekeeping, or janitorial experience preferred (not required) Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong attention to detail Reliable transportation to and from the property and at the property. Must be dependable and punctual Schedule and Pay: Flexible schedule; part-time to full-time depending on workload Pay starting at $17 per hour depending on experience, will do a review after 90 days for more pay Bi-Weekly Pay Only - Will Receive Cash Pay Only for First 90 Days. Taxes are then taken out if you are a fit for our company after the 90 day probation period. Do not expect to get paid at the end of your first week. It also depends on the day you start in our pay period as to the weeks or hours you do get paid on your first check. You are paid on a bi-weekly basis every two week after your first check. The Williston Northampton School, an independent co-educational boarding and day school located in Easthampton, MA, is seeking a single day per week Custodian/Housekeeper. The schedule for the position is Sunday only from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Responsible for fulfilling the assignments for campus housekeeping program to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions through campus facilities by performing the following essential functions: all standard custodial/housekeeping tasks; sweeps, mops, scrubs, and vacuums hallways, stairs and office spaces; empties trash and garbage containers in campus buildings including dormitories, academic buildings, children’s center and administrative offices; notifies manager concerning the need for repairs, or an addition to lighting, and potential heating issues; submits to management recommendations for painting, repairs, furnishings, and supplies. The successful candidate must: have one to three years of institutional experience preferably in an educational setting; be able to work intuitively and independently as well as part of the Facilities team; have strong organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing responsibilities as situations arise in fast paced environment; have the ability to understand written and oral instruction; have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills in order to successfully interact with diverse staff, faculty, students and other constituents of the School; have a working knowledge of commercial chemicals and cleaning equipment; be capable of performing repetitive tasks such as, bending, lifting (up to 25lbs.), pushing, stair climbing; be able to work in secondary boarding school atmosphere by successfully passing CORI, SORI and fingerprint based background checks; possess a valid driver’s license and be able to successfully pass a post offer employment physical. Position Summary The Part Time Custodian Staff member plays a key role in supporting the overall cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the Hatfield Rally House. You’ll help ensure the facility is ready for daily operations, events, and peak activity times by performing routine cleaning and making sure that all areas are safe to be in. This position is perfect for someone who is detail oriented, proactive, and takes pride in keeping the Hatfield Rally House at a high standard of cleanliness.
