Job Summary: Under the direction of the Assignments Supervisor, the Flagperson protects personnel and equipment while working on or near the tracks. The Flagperson uses various types of equipment, such as flags, whistles, discs, lights and two-way radios to ensure the safe passage of trains. The Flagperson duties primarily consist of three assignments, Switch Tender, Watchperson and Flagperson. The Switch Tender manipulates switches and signals train operators when proper switch alignment is provided. The Watchperson is charged with monitoring approaching trains and alerting work crews to clear the track of men and equipment. You must be neat and courteous as you will interact with our tenants and other clients from time to time. Pay will be commensurate to your skill set and experience. We can train for some of these items, however, we want someone who already has the majority of these skills if not all of them. You must be responsible and on time, you must be a team player.
