The Swine Animal Caretaker performs various daily activities relating to the farrowing and breeding of swine and their health and welfare. Duties including, but not limited to, monitoring house/room environment, caring and feeding of animals, farm sanitation, animal health and well-being, safety and housekeeping, animal movement, animal science and husbandry, and animal tracking data and all associated paperwork. Location of Openings Includes: Clinton, NC Harrells, NC Roseboro, NC Requirements Must have good communication skills Adaptable to change Ability to do physical labor Ability to follow instructions Essential Duties and Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to: Assist in all operations and care/feeding of the animals Ensure the welfare/well being of the animals Insure proper feed and supplies are on hand and follows standards for feeding and watering animals Identify problem areas and correct them immediately or report them to supervisor Ensure that all standards and procedures are known, understood and adhered to, as trained; including all safety procedures Develop and/or maintain proper record keeping tools for the animals Complete regular reports in a timely manner and ensure any variances are corrected Maintain all equipment and the correct environment in all barns at all times Pressure wash Identify all inconsistencies and immediately rectify or report to supervisor Promote teamwork and be an active participant of the farm’s team Perform other duties as defined by manager Special Job Requirements Must be able to work evenings and weekends when necessary ADA Requirements Ability to walk, stoop, bend, climb, repetitive motions, see and distinguish colors, hear, and lift up to 50lbs Benefits In addition to very competitive pay employees of Prestage Farms receive: Sick Pay Vacation Pay Holiday Pay 401(k) Plan Medical Insurance Voluntary Insurance options such as Dental, Vision, Etc.
