$865 1BR in sunny 3BR apt near Harvard Observatory – Oct 1/flexible (Cambridge)

Our roommate is sadly moving out, so we’re looking for a new roommate! Our place is a sunny second floor apartment, with 3 bedrooms, 2 big living spaces (one with some shelves for storage), large kitchen, 1 bathroom, free in-unit washer/dryer and back porch. All three bedrooms have high ceilings, hardwood floors, closets and 2 windows each. The bedroom being rented is ~11 x 12 feet. The room is unfurnished (you'd need to get your own bed, etc.), but the rest of the place is pretty well set up furniture-wise (though if for example you have a favorite chair, we could probably make room - same for a microwave, as our roommate is taking hers!). The neighborhood is quiet and tree-lined, near the Harvard Observatory and 2 blocks from shops and cafes. There's plenty of on-street parking with a Cambridge resident sticker, and it's an easy and safe 15-minute walk to Harvard Square subway or a 5-minute bus ride on one of the bus lines which stop a block away. Porter Square subway/commuter rail and Fresh Pond grocery stores are also a 15-minute walk (or a 5-minute bus ride, in the case of Fresh Pond). We're two female professionals (one works mostly from home and the other works mostly in-office), friendly, relatively clean (at least in common areas) and responsible. We occasionally have friends over for low-key gatherings, but that is pretty much the extent of our entertaining at home. We'd prefer a female roommate who is similarly low-key, considerate of others, willing to share in apartment cleaning and prompt in paying bills. Rent is $865/mo + shared utilities (high-speed wifi, electric, gas hot water, and oil heat - averages out to about $125-150/mo each). We have a Roku TV setup and can discuss splitting streaming service costs if that is of shared interest. If we decide you'd be a good roommate fit, you would need to sign a lease through August 31, 2026 (and pay $865 as a security deposit along with your first month’s rent). No smoking/vaping (even on porch) or pets per landlord. Move-in date is somewhat flexible, with earliest availability being Oct 1. Interested?
