With 100's of trucking companies going bankrupt this year and 1000's of drivers losing their job, why not work for a long-term stable employer. Interstate Meat Distributors, Inc. is a family owned business and the largest meat distributor in the northwest and services all 50 states. We specialize in ground beef and pork and specialty steaks and roasts. We are growing and looking to expand our number of fleet drivers. All of our trailers are refrigerated. We have the following position currently available: Yard Hostler-Moves around all refrigerated trailers between four lots. This position will be assigned the following schedule. Monday-Tuesday 6:30am to 5:00pm; Wednesday off; Thursday-Friday 4:00pm to 2:30a (4 x 10). Saturdays as needed. Sunday off. Will probably work more days while training. $26.00-$28.00/hr. to start. Actual scale is higher. These are all 4 x 10hr. shift. Saturdays on a rotating basis depending on business. Qualifications: • Recent 1 year of Class A Tractor Trailer driving experience (reefers preferred). • No more than 1 moving violation or accident in the last 3 years. • Must be able to pass a drug test. • Must be at least 21 years old. • Excellent driving skills. • Basic mechanical knowledge and/or troubleshooting skills. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Demonstrate a positive work attitude towards both internal and external customers and fellow workers. • Self-directed with strong time management skills. Must be able to communicate in English over a radio. Bi-lingual in English/Spanish preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for on-time and accurate shipping and delivery, ensuring that all items on Sales Orders are packaged and staged for order fulfillment. Record received inventory into the MRP system by ensuring items that are received match the Purchase Order and Packing Slip documentation. Loading and unloading trucks, wrapping products, packing, labeling, as well as operating a forklift when necessary. Responsible for product quality: reporting non-compliant parts and product to the appropriate managers. Pick parts to request and transact all inventory movements in ERP.
