DAY.  Our employee-owners are dependable, hold each other accountable and take pride in our work.  Position Summary We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Steel Shop Painter / Material Handler to join our fabrication team. This role is responsible for priming and inspecting fabricated steel materials, organizing and staging materials for delivery, and supporting overall shop and yard operations. Key responsibilities include moving finished materials to the paint booth, applying primer, ensuring quality and proper labeling, and coordinating with team leads to meet production and shipping schedules. The ideal candidate will also assist in unloading incoming materials, maintaining clean and organized work areas, loading trailers, and providing general labor support as needed. This is a hands-on role requiring strong teamwork, time management, and a proactive approach to daily tasks in a fast-paced environment. Requirements Move finished material from fab area to paint booth Prime all fabricated material Quality control of primed material Ensure material is labeled with part number and job name Clean, organize, and maintain paint booth and equipment Band up finished material and put in the yard for delivery or on slab for crew to pick up Work with foreman and leadman on schedule for when primed material needs to be ready to ship Help unload in coming material for steel shop and yard Work with the yard to make sure steel shop material and yard materials are staged together and ready for delivery Help with putting away returned material to keep staging areas clean and organized Help load finished materials on trailers Assist with general labor in the shop with rebar and making parts if there is no material to prime or yard to organize Skills & Abilities Basic knowledge of painting and priming techniques Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Forklift experience (Preferred) Ability to lift and move heavy materials on an as-needed basis Benefits Competitive hourly pay Annual incentive/profit sharing bonus ESOP (Yearly stock allocation) PTO Health, Dental, Vision Insurance
