The position is based out of the Swanton, Ohio location and the hours are Monday - Friday from 6:30am - 4:00pm. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but may not be limited to: Understand the safety features of the machines and tooling to ensure they are operating without compromise to safety systems. Follows safety protocol, including wearing heat resistant gloves, flame resistant (FR) clothing, protective masks, and safety toed footwear. Plans details of work order procedures; gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods. Ability to perform MIG welding activities to steel components Maintain welding fixtures and tooling in a suitable working order Visually inspect weld quality and use other quality inspection equipment to confirm compliance to part specifications. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and work area Performs other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma or equivalent Willingness to test and pass welder qualification test Thorough understanding of tools used in welding including designs, uses, maintenance and repair. Welding experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge based and working background in MIG welding of carbon and stainless steel products Must be able to complete a manual welding test. Welds are judged on functionality and esthetics Must be able to perform accurate mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply and divide) Ability to work with fractions and decimals A work history of compliance to safety, quality, and productivity standards A work history that supports a good to excellent attendance record Strong mechanical abilities Fast learner and able to adapt in a fast-paced environment Detail oriented approach to daily work activities Able to work well in a team-oriented work environment Positive attitude and willingness to learn PREFERRED SKILLS: At least 2 years' welding experience and able to perform MIG welding. Ability to read, interpret and understand Work Orders. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Walking, Standing, Sitting Kneeling, Stooping  Lifting, Carrying up to 50 pounds ADDITIONAL NOTES: May require overtime with little notice before or after normal work hours or weekends. Monitor the operations of the machines and notify the supervisor if there are any problems. Visually inspect parts produced and determine if they meet quality standards. Complete documentation on defective parts. Essential Duties • Operator molding and other production machines in a safe and efficient manner, notifying the lead or supervisor if there are any problems. Some troubleshooting skills are required. • Visually inspect parts and determine if they meet the acceptable quality limits. Conduct quality checks using measuring equipment. • Package parts as specified to ensure proper and safe handling of the product. • Log all rejects on the Attribute Charts. • Review the operator inspection procedure before taking over any job. • Label all boxes after packaging to ensure proper handling of parts. • Ability to use basic measuring Equipment. • Degate and trim parts as required using secondary machinery to accomplish. • Ability to perform secondary operations such as gluing, welding, trimming, and some assembly. • Ability to use part count scale.
