About You We’re seeking a resulted-focused, innovative, self-driven and well-qualified individual to join our talented team as a Reactor Operator for our Torrington CT facility. Here, you will safely produce batch adhesives and oligomers formulations that meet quality, ISO, safety and internal control standards – while meeting customer expectations and satisfying lines shipped-on-time (LSOT) requirements. You will: Safely operate industrial mixing and powerlifting equipment by setting and controlling mixing parameters to work instructions, and by utilizing lift trucks, power jacks, and drum dollies to retrieve and replace raw materials and WIP Promote warehousing and material handling best practices by safely and efficiently transfering raw materials from delivery vehicles to warehouse storage to reactor workstations then transferring finished goods to racking and staging areas Maintain a secure, healthy, clean, ergonomically sensitive, productive workplace by practicing safe handling procedures, using PPE as appropriate, following SDS, EH&S, and HazMat requirements, and by ensuring proper storage of materials and equipment Employ best practices in inventory management by using first-in-first-out raw materials controls, carefully and consistently recording inventory transactions, maintaining cycle and stock counts, through lot, and material traceabilities Create robust work batches by utilizing Work Orders and SOPs, accurately measuring and processing chemical ingredients in the production of finished formulations, recording process information accurately, and taking actions to resolve quality concerns in a timely fashion Reduce quality errors by investigating and determining sources of errors, thereby predicting future sources of error, and by continuously improving practices and 6-sigma protocols to prevent such errors Maintain dependable Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) records by performing transactional integrity through accurate input entries and by executing key electronic transfers and search functions Requirements You should have: High school diploma or equivalent; advanced credential preferred 3+ years’ work experience in material processing, batch formulations, or chemical manufacture Proficiency with computer programs – Inventory Management software, and Microsoft Office Good math and organization skills Ability to lift and carry weights up to 50lb Hazwoper training preferred After initial training, ability to work independently under minimal supervision Benefits Our company offers its employees: Attractive salaries Personal growth opportunities Excellent benefits packages that include: Health Care Plan (Medical, Dental & Vision) Retirement Plan (401K) Life Insurance (Basic, Voluntary & AD&D) Generous Paid Time Off and Public Holidays Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Free uniforms and footwear Training & Development Tuition Reimbursement Wellness Resources Salary: $23 Sign-on Bonus: $500 Our company takes the compensation of its employees very seriously and considers several factors when determining the total compensation package including but not limited to location, market range, skills, knowledge, experience, and abilities. Raw Material Processor
SUMMARY: Receives raw materials from railroad cars and delivers material in proper mixtures to hoppers in the storage area. Regrinds faulty product for re-use as raw materials. Ensures proper mixture of new and reground material. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: • Achieves daily quota for production. • Cleans surfaces and machines located in the Raw Materials Department. • Transfers raw materials from transportation containers through mechanical receiving systems to hoppers, blenders or tumblers. Mixes, by formula, additional raw materials including pigments, reground material and chemical agents to achieve and transfer appropriate blended material for use in injection molding machines. • Writes hopper labels describing the weight of the material and the weight of pigment contained in the material. • Operates the regrind machine to grind rejected products into raw material and operates the metal detector on the material to ensure it is clean and ready for reuse. • Reads production schedule to determine amounts of virgin and reground material that is needed to meet the production plan. • Performs minor maintenance on machines. Requirements Previous manufacturing experience preferred. Effectively communicate in both written and oral forms. Read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos. Write simple correspondence. Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
