The Emory Valley Center We are a nonprofit organization located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, that has been serving individuals with developmental disabilities since 1955. It supports children, adults, and families across 16 East Tennessee counties, offering a wide range of services including supported living, day programs, employment assistance, early intervention, family support, and therapies such as speech, occupational, and behavioral health. The center also operates the Emory Valley Early Learning Center, an inclusive preschool licensed by the Department of Human Services. In 2016, Emory Valley Center opened a new facility to expand its services and continue its mission of promoting independence, dignity, and community inclusion for individuals with disabilities. Responsibilities: The Accounts Payable(A/P) Clerk is primarily responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all account payable vouchers in the accounting system. Additional responsibilities include stamping the date received on all A/P vouchers, stamping the date paid on all A/P vouchers paid, assisting family support in their A/P needs and assisting the finance department in scanning and filing needs. Matches approved purchase requisitions with appropriate invoices. Stamps the date received on all A/P vouchers. Contacts vendors for invoice copies. Enters approved payment vouchers into accounting system by batch and gives to Accounting Manger to approve. Enters approved payment vouchers into accounting software. Produces weekly A/P aging reports. Produces printed A/P checks for signature. Obtains authorized signatures on weekly A/P check runs. Stamps all paid vouchers “paid” before filing. Maintains A/P vendor files. Creates new vendor files. Maintains permanent W-9 files. Reviews monthly aging reports and ensures subsidiary ledger matches general ledger. Posts all Automated Clearing House (ACH) payments to the general ledger. Coordinates with Family Support Program for payment of Family Support vouchers, following Emory Valley Center Accounts Payable policy. Files all A/P documentation and verifies accuracy in filing/scanning. Various other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Finance and Senior Accountant. Requirements One year experience in accounts payable management. Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or any others) A clear attention to detail Good Organizational skills High School diploma, or equivalent. DIDD designated online training and any other required training. Valid driver’s license.
