Skilled Worker, General Construction, $28 per hr (Palm Beach County)

Skilled Worker General Construction Exp. $28 per hour. Brigade Fire Protection is looking to hire temporary workers for installing Fire Sprinkler Systems. The work we are offering currently is temporary, we need to hire about one or two people for about three weeks starting from9/1/25, however, if the workload continues, we may look to have you work longer. Please read this entire ad before contacting us for an interview. The work consists of loading and unloading materials (but not too heavy, not too much), fabricating pipe, prepping materials, drilling holes, installing pipe hangers, tightening and loosening pipe, etc. You'll have to be comfortable with climbing and working off of ladders. Construction experience is helpful but you do not have to have experience in this particular trade of Fire Sprinkler Installation. If you're mechanically-inclined that is also a plus. Some of the work is heavy, physical work. Please understand that you must be reasonable fit and okay with pushing and pulling on pipe wrenches through the course of a day. But note we always look for easier ways to get the job done. When you find that the job you're working on is a little difficult it would be okay for you to let us know and take it at a slower pace. Like all companies we require reasonable production, but we don't expect you to over do it. You have to be on time and you must have your own transportation. If we think you're going to have a problem with not arriving at work on time we will have to let you go. The workday will likely be from 7 to 3:30 with a 30 minute lunch but this may vary with the particular jobs you are working on. The pay period will be from Saturday to Friday (the work days will almost always be Monday through Friday). Payment would be through Zelle- available on the Tuesday following the pay-period ending Friday. Each week would likely be about 30 hours per week, roughly. NOTE, if you gain employment through Craigslist, or some other means, be aware that employers are bound by Florida Law to pay, and in the event you do not receive a paycheck, you may contact the Florida Department of Labor, 1-866-4-USA-DOL , and they will do a complete investigation. Construction companies especially are required to provide payroll as well as Worker's Compensation insurance. And, Construction workers are able to place a lien on a construction project if they are not paid. Our Corporate license is P00000021407. We've been in business for 20 years and are fully licensed and insured. Paychecks will not be available early. There are no advances on pay. We do not pay, “under the table.” Sorry. If hired, please bring your identification and social security card on your first day. We will have the I9 and W4 and employment application for you to fill out. Without these items, you will not be able to work. You will be working with one of our journeyman. They will be showing you what you have to do while they're busy with other tasks. Please understand that they will show you where you may have to climb ladders or go up on lifts to install the piping (again, not too fast or too heavy) while they stay mostly on the ground. This is because they are older and we need more physically fit individuals to install the piping. Also, they may sometimes leave the job to do other service work, or pick up plans, or drop off a permit, or meet with a customers. You must be okay with working while someone is not there. Again, you don't have to work too hard or too fast, just with reasonable, normal, production. On some projects we may have you working with other individuals. You must be okay with working with other people. The starting pay, for an installer will be $28.00 an hour. We feel that this is comparable with most other construction companies. Certainly, anyone with experience in this trade is welcome to apply, and we could discuss a pay level that is commensurate with that experience, but we are essentially looking for installers. Please note that, if you have experience in this field, we are looking for people who will both "fish and cut bait." At times you may be installing pipe and other times you may be fabricating pipe in preparation for work, or repairing a tool, or loading/unloading a truck. If you are knowledgeable in measuring pipe and laying out work we could certainly put this to use, but any task required to bring the projects to completion may be needed.
