The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting all accounting needs for LGI Homes. This role is responsible for the day-to-day accounting, monthly reconciliations, as well as other general accounting related activities of all assigned LGI Homes communities. The Accountant will participate in monthly, quarter and year-end close processes and will assist with external audit quarterly reviews and annual audits. This role will work on other general accounting duties and projects as assigned. Requirements A Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field is required in this role. At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience is preferred, with knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Accountant must have strong Microsoft Excel skills, the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, outstanding organizational skills with a strong attention to detail, strong analytical skills and a positive attitude. Newstar or homebuilding experience is a plus.
