Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are currently looking for a Safety Advisor to join our team. As a Safety Advisor, you will play a key role in ensuring that all aspects of health and safety are actively managed on site. You will work closely with contractors, workers, and corporate teams to implement and maintain robust safety programs, promote a culture of safety, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee all safety functions on site and ensure strict adherence to MSHA requirements. Develop, implement, and maintain project-specific Health & Safety Management Programs, including Safety Reporting Programs and Project Health & Safety Management Plans that comply with corporate requirements. Coach and mentor contractors, workers, and new employees on safety best practices and procedures. Coordinate onboarding processes for all contractors and associated workers to ensure they are fully informed of site-specific safety requirements. Perform investigations into any incidents or near-misses, preparing reports and recommending corrective actions. Liaise with the Centerra Corporate Safety team to ensure alignment with corporate safety expectations. Conduct any required drug and alcohol testing on contractors. Serve as a safety ambassador on site, participating in inspections, line-out meetings, and Visible Felt Leadership (VFL) activities. Requirements Qualifications: Familiarity with MSHA requirements and experience applying them on industrial or mining projects. Preferably a Blue Card holder. Proven experience developing and implementing Health & Safety Management Programs for projects or operations. Experience implementing safety reporting systems and monitoring compliance. Strong coaching and mentoring skills to support contractors, employees, and new hires in safety practices. Experience conducting incident investigations and developing actionable recommendations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with corporate teams, contractors, and site personnel. Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments and manage multiple priorities. Relevant certifications (e.g., First Aid, H2S, WHMIS, Construction Safety Training System) are an asset. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
