We are a specialty trade only printer that is capable of offset and digital printing, foil stamping and embossing, UV coating, plastic film lamination, die-cutting, folding and gluing, as well as hand assembly and shipping all at one location in Macomb, Michigan. The Cutter Operator and Material Handler will program, operate and maintain the Polar Knife equipment to prepare stock for in-house production following company quality standards to ensure accuracy. This person will also load, unload, and move material within the plant/production areas following company quality standards to ensure accuracy. Expected hours: 40 hours per week Union Representation after 90 days Requirements ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED. Programs, operates, and maintains the Polar Knife equipment. Retrieves and prepares stock for press operators. Retrieves material and products for in-house production needs. Maintains designated paper storage area and paper inventory. Retrieves materials and bundles recyclable scrap together for transport. QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. High school education; or up to six months related experience at Admore or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to other employees of the organization. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. A valid driver’s license is required to operate hoisting equipment. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Compensation  This is a full-time, hourly union position with a pay range of $18.98 - $20.58 per hour, based upon individual experience and qualifications.
