This is an early US version 9:1 compression car with 87559 DOCUMENTED miles-I bought it from the next door neighbor of the original owner in 1995 (he bought it from the original owner's estate in the 1970's). It has the original 291 Dark Olive paint (except for a couple spots on the front panel which were sprayed over after a minor accident which occurred in the first couple of years of the car's life) and a gorgeous original cognac leather interior with equally gorgeous original burlwood trim. The car was hit in the back panel before the second owner parked it in 1982, and it sat in his garage until I bought it. The damage is not structural, just a couple dents in the back panel. The paint is very good, though there are the usual blemishes from driving. There are several dings at various spots on the body and a couple in the trim as well. The only rust on the car (except for a bit of surface rust on some underbody parts) is on the drivers' side at the bottom of the front fender, the front of the rear dogleg, and the back of the rear wheelarch. The (original, of course) engine is in excellent condition with the most even compression (~180psi, see the compression test results, done 2 weeks ago) I've ever seen in one of these M100s, and the rest of the drivetrain is equally excellent. The suspension stays up for around a week before slowly dropping in the front, looks like one or both of the front valves may need rebuilding. Everything works except the air conditioning, which needs to have the connections checked and needs a charge. I have the original wheels if you'd prefer (these are 17x7 aftermarkets), with the second set of tires on them (yes, they still hold air), dating from the late 1970s (I have the receipt for these tires from the previous owner, serial numbers on the receipt match those stamped into the tires). I have halogen lights on the front, I replaced the alternator with a 220 amp unit with internal regulator, and the ignition is a Pertronix unit driving an MSD Digital 6A capacitive discharge box. The car has an L17z injection pump which is the most powerful of the pumps installed on these cars (only the first 500, I installed it on this engine due to it's strength and to take full advantage of the powerful ignition system I installed). Clean, straight and tight, an absolute blast to drive, and one of the best cognac leather/burlwood interiors you'll ever see. Yes it's got some flaws, but where you gonna find another this original nowadays?
