Maintenance Person Wanted (Yonkers, NY)

A college fraternity has an opening for a Housekeeper / Maid. This is an hourly position Monday - Friday. Preferred hours are 7:00am - 3:00pm but can also do 8:00am - 4:00pm. The Housekeeper will have the primary responsibility for managing all aspects of the cleaning common areas of the fraternity house. Working closely with the House Director and the House Manager, the Housekeeper(s) ensure that the common areas are clean, sanitary and comfortable environment for members and guests. The normal work weeks are 17 weeks in the Fall semester and 17 weeks in the Spring semester of the academic year (34 weeks a year). During breaks (Christmas and summer) you will be off and we allow you to claim unemployment. Pay is $25/hour for 40 hours a week. $1,000/weekly. While working you can eat breakfast and lunch for free at the job site in the cafeteria as a fringe benefit ($150/week fringe benefit). Duties and Responsibilities: Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors in all common areas Vacuum clean carpets and rugs Dust and polish furniture and fittings Clean metal fixtures and fittings Empty and clean trash containers Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner Clean and put away lunch and dinner dishes Clean sinks, mirrors, and showers Wipe down glass surfaces Wash windows as scheduled Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition Report any maintenance issues, safety issues or damage to the House Director Re-align furniture in common areas With House Director identify, maintain and stock supply inventory to include the appropriate amounts of toilet paper, cleaning supplies, etc. Employer supplies and pays for all cleaning supplies to carry out job duties. Complete other duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills: Goal and team oriented, able to work closely with people while exhibiting a positive solution-focused attitude Excellent organization, communication, conflict resolution and time/project management skills Ability to interact professionally with members, campus administrators, parents, alumni, vendors, advisors and guests Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work with college-age men. Must have patience, flexibility and a sense of humor. Lift and carry up to 35 lbs. Ability to climb stairs Stand 80% of the time while working Kneel, bend and reach for items often Work primarily indoors Use cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, mop buckets, etc. Work with some cleaning products that contain chemicals.

We are in need for reliable Pet Sitters with flexible schedules to join our team. The ideal candidate for this position is passionate about animals and has some experience caring for pets in a professional setting. You will be walking medium - large dogs. Responsibilities include providing basic care such as feeding, walking, and playing with the animals, as well as providing emotional support and companionship. We are looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, and has a deep love for animals. Responsibilities: - Provide a safe and comfortable environment for pets. - Be able to recognize signs of illness or distress in animals. - Provide basic care such as feeding, walking, and cleaning up after pets. We are in need of a few general laborers to assist in ground work related to tree trimming and removals. This position will assist with hauling and chipping brush, driving, chainsaw and other pruning tool use and general site cleanup. Experience in this field of work is preferred, as can be a physically demanding job. With expressed interest and continued aptitude, training can be provided to learn tree climbing and rigging. This job has the potential to grow into a more well-rounded and skilled position for the right person. We meet at our truck yard at 7:30am, coordinate vehicles and equipment for that day, and return to the yard at the end of the day, generally around 4pm with some days requiring overtime. About This Role Our Laborers work primarily on our jobsites to fill gaps between subcontractor trades and keep our projects moving safely, on-time and on-budget. Hours are usually 7am-4pm (M-F), 40-hours per week. Overtime is available, and some weekend work may be required. On a Given Day, Your Work Might Include: • Observe all safety requirements on job sites, and actively seek to correct or report safety hazards or infractions • Operate a variety of tools safely, including but not limited to: skill saw, drill, nail gun • Moving, securing, installing, building, and loading or unloading construction materials • Assisting in the building or construction of various objects • Effectively using heavy and light equipment, depending on the jobsite/assignment • Moving dirt or other material as directed in plans or by the Project Manager • Moving items from place to place, according to direction from the Project Manager • Maintain a clean job site • Perform other duties as assigned What You’ll Need to Succeed: • 1-2 years hands-on experience in residential construction.
