Job Description: Title: House Manager with Meal Prep Assistance Location: Seattle, WA 98122 Employment Type: Part-time (10–15 hours/week) Proposed Start Date: ASAP Compensation: $30–35/hour based on experience Requirements: Non-smoker, pass background check, has transportation Proposed Schedule: Flexible daytime hours (before 6 pm), 2-3 days/week, Monday – Wednesday preferred About Our Family: We’re a busy family of four with two kids in school (ages 7 and 4) and two parents working full time in-office. We’re looking for a proactive household manager who can confidently take on executive household tasks with minimal direction. With the majority of childcare, cleaning, and laundry already covered, this role is focused more on the broader management of our home—handling recurring errands and chores, tackling projects that have lingered on our to-do list, and taking on new tasks as they arise. Who We’re Looking For: Our ideal candidate is warm, action-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks without needing oversight. The person we’re looking for is: -Proactive, resourceful, and forward-thinking—you see what’s needed before being asked -Flexible and comfortable juggling a variety of tasks -Detail-oriented and highly organized -Friendly, warm, and easy to communicate with day-to-day -Competent in managing both recurring routines and one-off projects -Capable of light home maintenance and basic repairs—not a professional handyman, but could put together IKEA furniture or tighten some hinges. Key Responsibilities: Household & Property Management: -Maintain household organizational systems (closets, pantry, storage, etc.) -Help tidy and organize shop tools (power tools, etc.). -Oversee household schedules and calendars -Manage and oversee household projects ranging from small tasks (watering plants, light repairs, touch-up painting, yard pick-up) to larger improvements (painting, flooring, fencing, deck builds) -Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotes -Coordinate service providers and contractors/designers as needed (handyman, plumber, contractor, landscaper, electrician, etc.) -Assist in home renovation support -Oversee outdoor spaces and seasonal maintenance needs -Ensure vehicles are fueled, cleaned, and organized -Load/unload the dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high-traffic areas -Maintain overall neatness Meal Planning, Prep & Kitchen Support: -Prepare family meals that are strictly gluten- and soy-free, ensuring all dishes meet household allergy requirements -Shop for groceries and meal-related items weekly, including a monthly Costco haul (family uses online shopping) -Prepare healthy, family-friendly dinners with leftovers for additional meals (protein-forward, veggie-rich) -Keep the kitchen tidy post-meal prep Organization & Seasonal Systems: -Create and maintain household organization systems (closets, storage, pantry, toys, yard, tool shed) -Manage clothing rotations and seasonal swaps for children -Organize and conduct seasonal décor and bedding swaps -Prepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-ups -Support family packing/unpacking for travel -Reset and tidy rooms as needed; keep home prepped for Thursday morning cleaners -Manage special household projects (garage, toy storage, decluttering) Errands & Shopping: -Manage online orders and household deliveries (Amazon, Target) -Handle weekly errands: grocery shopping, prescriptions, gift shopping, returns, library books, mail/packages -Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and household supplies -Create and manage running household supply lists Family & Administrative Support: -Research kid-friendly activities and help with scheduling -Provide occasional backup childcare (e.g., date nights) -Assist in light laundry prep (e.g., pre-treating stains) -Tackle minor sewing and clothing repairs (e.g., buttons, hems, patches) -Coordinate travel planning and scheduling logistics -Handle ad-hoc tasks like scheduling events, booking appointments, calling utility services, managing holiday cards, and wrapping gifts -Manage family calendars and reminders Deep Cleaning & Special Projects: -Maintain and refresh specific zones (entryways, garage, mudroom) -Clean humidifiers, washing machines, and air purifiers monthly -Organize special projects: toy storage, seasonal decorations, gear rotation How to Apply: If interested, please email with the following or apply directly here: https://sage-haus.breezy.hr/p/f3480b3cc6c3-house-manager-with-meal-prep-assistance/apply -A brief letter explaining why you believe you would be a great fit for this position -Your updated resume -At least 3 references with contact information
