About the role: We’re seeking a skilled Carpenter with experience in both rough and finish work to support a range of projects from start to finish. This is a hands-on role requiring technical skill, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Job Duties: Perform rough framing, trim work, and general carpentry tasks with precision Form walls after layout is provided Assist with layout and setting anchor bolts Assist with material takeoffs for job site needs Use essential carpentry tools (square, measuring tape, levels, saws, etc.) comfortably and correctly Measure, cut, and install wood and other materials accurately Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications Communicate and collaborate effectively with the crew and take direction from supervisors, foremen, and members of other trades Follow all safety procedures and project protocols to maintain a safe, clean, and organized job site Requirements Qualifications & Strengths: 3+ years of commercial or residential carpentry experience Strong knowledge of construction techniques, materials, and tools High attention to detail and quality workmanship Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Dependable, self-motivated, and adaptable in both independent and team settings Comfortable learning new tools or techniques OSHA 10 or 30 certification (preferred but not required) Must have own hand tools Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required Physical Requirements: Performance of the required duties may require the following: Due to the nature of our work and as part of our commitment to safety and integrity, ALL final candidates are required and must successfully pass a background check and drug screening before starting employment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, passenger use of construction personnel hoists, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. This job requires lifting, bending, carrying, and climbing. The employee regularly works on-site at the construction work site where the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. This is a general statement of required major duties and responsibilities performed on a regular and continuous basis.  It does not exclude other duties as assigned. Job Title: Commercial Carpenter Location: Sterling Heights, MI Salary: Up to $27 per hour (potentially higher based on experience) Overview: We are seeking a skilled Commercial Carpenter to join our team at AtWork Search. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in fabrication and/or commercial carpentry, with a focus on installing metal studs, doors, and windows. Proficiency in additional fabrication skills such as MIG and ARC welding is highly advantageous. Key Responsibilities: Installation of metal studs, doors, and windows in commercial settings. Proficiency in drywall installation, including hanging full sheets and half sheets, as well as mudding, taping, and painting. Ability to perform rough and finished carpentry tasks as required. Basic electrical knowledge is desirable but not required; ability to change breakers or install ceiling fans a plus. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to complete projects efficiently and on time. Willingness to travel to various sites including our 18.5 Mile location, South or Warren plants, and local apartment complexes in Metro Detroit.
