Primary Duties and Responsibilities As the Medical Receptionist / Patient Access Representative, you are the initial point of communication and contact for the Clinic. You are a self-directed professional, who will take initiative, stay ahead of tasks and solve problems proactively to ensure smooth daily operations, all while taking excellent care of our patients with grace, compassion and discretion. You will • Provide front line in-person and phone reception, greet patients • Manage check-in/check-out, including scheduling appointments and collecting copays • Review/interpret insurance benefits and pre-authorization requirements • Complete patient consent forms • Collect accurate patient demographic, financial and insurance data • Facilitate communication between patients and clinic staff in a clear and timely manner Qualities/Skills Needed for Success in this Role • Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, accurate under pressure • Excellent computer skills • Professional, well-spoken with excellent verbal/written communication • Have polished appearance • Work cohesively as part of the team and maintain composure in this fast-paced but low-stress environment • Treat patients with care and professionalism • Value the critical nature of your role on the team and therefore are 100% reliable and punctual • Flexible with work hours as they may vary occasionally depending on patient needs • Passionate about true health and wellness in your own life Education and Experience • Preferred one year experience in a medical or healthcare office reception position • Preferred experience with any EMR software • Experience with Excel, Word, and Outlook • Expert in basic math • Speedy and highly accurate typing and data entry skills • High School Diploma or GED Physical Demands of the Job This position is approximately 50% sitting and 50% moving throughout the office; very occasional lifting of approximately 25-pound boxes.
