HIRING CAREGIVERS/DSP (Direct Support Professional) for Group Home/residential facility in North Highlands, CA Salary: $19.50-23/hr (Depends on availability, flexibility, ability to complete recruitment/clearance process faster and smoothly etc.) Available Shifts/hours: weekday evenings and Weekend morning and evening In addition to high pay WE OFFER: -$25-100 performance award -$100-200 referral bonus -Paid on site orientation Job Description: Join a team of passionate and caring people who make a difference in lives of individuals with developmental disabilities. We are looking for compassionate Caregivers-Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide care to 4 clients (living in group home setting) with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Essential Responsibilities/Job Duties include but not limited to: • Providing direct supervision. Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, general health monitoring, and health care related tasks. Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their housemates, staff, and others involved in their care • Assisting in implementing individual program plans (IPPs) • Ensuring client safety and maintaining a safe environment • Assisting with activities of daily living (dressing, bathing, feeding, ambulation, transfer, and toileting) • Reminding/assisting client with self-administration of medications (with proper training) • Encouraging self-help activities • Reporting changes in client's condition (Mental/physical) or family situation to the administrator or designee • Documenting services provided • Performing home management functions such as housekeeping, laundry, bed making, cleaning, and organizing Assisting clients with medication administration • Planning meals, preparing list/shopping for groceries, preparing and serving food/meals, feeding and clean-up • Accompanying client to scheduled appointments • Transporting clients or running errands for clients as needed/when assigned by administrator Implementing/utilizing behavior plans as per IPP Implementing/utilizing crisis interventions plans Providing supervision • Other duties as assigned by the administrator or designee Qualifications: • High school diploma/GED (Preferred) • 18 years of age or older • Valid driver's license (Preferred) • Must pass background check Authorized to legally work in the United States • Must be able to provide negative TB test or negative chest x-ray (Can not be older than 1year at the time of starting job) Must pass Finger print clearance (please note-candidate’s with past history of law enforcement involvement/offenses including misdemeanors, expunged old records etc. may not be able to get clearance to work with this special population depending upon the severity of the offense) Positive attitude and team player • CPR and first aid certification • Ability to work in a group home • Ability to communicate (verbally and written) in English with all levels of personnel, internal and external to the company • Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and walking for periods of time • Must maintain state regulatory certifications, as required by state/program requirements Must complete CEUs and trainings as required by title 17 and Title 22 regulations Able to work with individuals with behavior challenges Reliable with good work ethics Please note it’s a drug free work place
