Role Overview We’re looking for a Production Assistant to join our small, passionate team in our Benicia kitchen. You’ll help bring our desserts to life — supporting every step of production, from mixing and baking to packaging our beautiful gelato sandwiches and pints. What You’ll Do Assist with baking and preparing cookie components for our ice cream sandwiches. Support gelato production — blending, filling, and quality-checking. Operate and clean production equipment safely and efficiently. Package finished products with care and accuracy. Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe workspace. Help track inventory and communicate needs to the team. What We’re Looking For A positive attitude and willingness to learn. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes/processes. Ability to work on your feet and lift up to 40 lbs. Food production or kitchen experience a plus (but not required — we’ll train you). We’re opening a konbini-inspired grab-and-go shop in the Mission District, celebrating Asian American third-culture flavors in a fast, friendly, and welcoming environment. We’re looking for a part-time team member who’s excited about food, culture, and community to join us at launch. Persons of any experience level should apply as we need help ASAP with other major opening tasks (merchandizing, beverage recipe R&D, etc.) Responsibilities: - Prepare and serve coffee, tea, and other beverages with consistency and care. - Assist customers in selecting food and retail items, sharing product knowledge with enthusiasm. - Operate the POS system, handle cash/card transactions, and maintain accurate sales. - Keep the shop clean, organized, and fully stocked—including restocking shelves and rotating products. - Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines. - Provide friendly, attentive, and culturally sensitive customer service. - Support special events, tastings, and seasonal promotions. Qualifications - Previous barista, café, or retail merchandising experience preferred, but not required. Training provided. - Strong communication and customer service skills. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. - Comfortable on your feet for several hours and able to lift up to 25 lbs. - Punctual, reliable, and a team player. - Interest in Asian flavors, snacks, and third-culture food a plus!
