The individual in the Kitchen Staff role assists with the preparation and service of food for the students, faculty, and staff of the school and assists with the maintenance of the kitchen. We are seeking an individual who will: • Food management: o General food service activities including but not limited to food prep, cooking, set up, serving, and cleanup o Pre-heat cooking equipment as directed o Stock coolers and deli case with beverages, pre-prepared foods, and items requiring refrigeration o Prepare and set out breakfast foods o Prepare daily hot entrees o Store food in warmers and perform temperature checks o Prepare pre-ordered sandwiches and salads o Prepare food for the bistro sandwich and salad station o Cool and store left-over foods • Assist with special event food preparation, serving, and clean up • Assist with kitchen use of software for communicating with vendors, within school, and food tracking • Stock and inventory food supplies • General cleanup of kitchen and washing of kitchen items • Serve students and staff during lunch service • Interact warmly with students, staff, faculty, and others during the day as needed • Check menus and help with food orders • Prepare, service, and clean up for special events • Shut down cooking equipment • Clean trays, dishes, towels, and any equipment used in the preparation and service of food • Familiarity with and utilization of some software programs for kitchen functions • Other duties as assigned The successful individual in this position will: • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment. • Take initiative. • Execute tasks independently when needed and work cooperatively with a team regularly. Required Experience and Education: • Food Handling permit (required within 30 days of employment) • High school diploma required • Hold CPR/AED/First Aid certification (with epinephrine autoinjector supplement) or obtain certification within 90 days of employment start date • Currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer (sponsorship is not available for this position) It's more than a Job.
