The company is hiring part-time instructors to to teach afterschool classes in Forest Hills, Queens. Launch Instructors work in one of our partner schools in Queens leading project based enrichment classes focused on STEM. Examples of STEM classes include (but are not limited to): Coding with Scratch, Freaky Forces + Elusive Energies, Rockin' Robotics, and our "I Wanna Be..." series featuring Detective, Animator, and Marine Biologist! The opportunity in Queens focuses on coding and robotics classes during Fall 2025. As a Launch Instructor you are expected to: Provide top quality instruction utilizing proven Launch methods, curriculum, and provided materials Enthusiastically engage students during instructional sessions Help students gain confidence in their ability to learn and succeed Constantly assess and consider ways to improve classroom experience Maintain regular communications with the Launch Program Coordinators Requirements For STEM classes, subject matter expertise in related sciences, tech, or math; A passion and skill for building hands-on projects with kids; Ability to code using Scratch is a requirement. Coordinate outside activity providers, ie musicians, volunteers. Coordinate outings, contact outing sites, family & residents to arrange visits. Coordinate activities to be done in evenings and/or weekends with caregivers & managers. Coordinate any needed food items with chefs and housekeepers. Supports the mental health and social service needs of residents.   Required Experience, Education, & Skills:  Experience in a residential care or assisted living setting, preferably with RCFE Activity Certification but not required. Strong understanding of federal, State, and local regulations governing residential care facilities for the elderly. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic, with a commitment to providing an environment that is positive and uplifting to our residents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Activity Connect software. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.   Physical Requirements: Activity Coordinator will routinely be required to stoop, carry, bend, squat, kneel, crouch, climb, grip, reach, push and pull. Activity Coordinator will also occasionally be required to lift overhead, waist high or floor level.
