Westcoast Trucking Inc. is looking for a Junior Diesel Mechanic/Shop Assistant. Position Type: Full-Time Experience Level: Mid-Level (minimum 1-2 years experience DIESEL MECHANIC) Pay Rate: $18 - $27/hour based on experience 350,000 sq. ft. Warehousing with three yards on same street. We have our own Chassis', Trailers, Peterbilt's, Volvo Trucks, Nikola, Yard Goats. Key Responsibilities: • Assist senior diesel mechanics with truck, trailer and forklift diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs • Perform basic servicing (oil changes, filter replacements, greasing, etc.) • Keep the workshop and work areas clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and parts • Help move trucks and parts in and out of the workshop (under supervision) • Follow all health and safety procedures and assist in maintaining compliance • Learn and grow on the job with hands-on experience and mentorship • May be required to record time, materials, and parts used for each task • Run diagnostic tests and interpret results. •Inspect vehicle systems including suspensions, steering, and exhausts. • Replace or repair transmissions, brakes, and engines. • Conduct field visits for emergency breakdowns. • Maintain records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles. Requirements: • Diesel mechanical knowledge or relevant training • 1+ year experience as Diesel Mechanic • Eagerness to learn and a good work ethic • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team • Physically fit and capable of handling tools and equipment • Valid driver’s license (preferred) • Forklift or truck license (highly preferred) • Welding and other mechanical certifications (highly preferred) • Ability to operate class A vehicles and trailers (highly preferred) What We Offer: • Hands-on training and career development opportunities • Supportive and experienced team environment • Potential for growth into a qualified mechanic’s role • Competitive hourly rate based on experience • Uniform and PPE provided Website: www.westcoastwarehouse.com

QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent (GED). • Vocational or technical training in custodial trades preferred. • At least one (1) year experience in either a public or commercial custodial position preferred. • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, administration, and the general public. • Ability to lift, shove, pull, push, and carry objects weighing at least fifty (50) pounds. • Valid Washington State driver’s license preferred. • Demonstrated ability to use good judgment in accessing, prioritizing, scheduling, and completing custodial work. • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent or designee may find appropriate and acceptable. • Ability to work alone and as a team member with the flexibility to work in all areas of the building. WORKING CONDITIONS Incumbents typically experience daily: • Standing for prolonged periods. Crouching, bending and go up and down stairs. • Lifting and/or carrying objects at least 50 pounds. • Use of cleaning tools, machinery, and ladders. • Exposure to environments that contain heat, cold and to cleaning chemicals. • Potential exposure to blood borne pathogens. _________________________________________________________________________________
