We are seeking reliable, safety-minded drivers to join our contractor team and help us fulfill this important federal contract. As a contract driver, you’ll be responsible for the timely transport of mail along Highway Contract Route 24463. You will represent both our company and the USPS, ensuring professional service, strict adherence to schedules, and compliance with USPS security standards. --- 🛣 Responsibilities Safely operate company-approved vehicle(s) for mail transport. Pick up and deliver mail between assigned USPS facilities according to set schedules. Ensure the secure handling of all USPS property. Complete daily logs and mileage reports accurately. Follow all USPS contractor requirements, including background checks, drug screening, and security protocols. --- ✅ Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age. Valid U.S. Driver’s License Clean Motor Vehicle Record (no serious traffic violations in past 3 years). Must pass USPS background check and drug screening. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and handle mail containers. U.S. citizen or permanent resident (per USPS security requirements). Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and conduct. --- 💵 Compensation Rate: $16/hr approx 34 hours per week Contractor paid bi-weekly via payroll service. --- 📝 Additional Information This is a 1099 Independent Contractor role — not an employee position. Drivers are responsible for maintaining reliability and availability for all assigned contract runs. Must be comfortable working with federal contractors and under USPS oversight. You will be responsible for maintaining your own mileage, log maintenance to your vehicle as well as fuel. We are a small family owned and operated trucking company located in Weyers Cave, VA looking to hire a full-time Local Class A CDL driver to help service our customers between Roanoke (Load) area up to Weyers Cave, Winchester, Northern Virginia area and occasionally Morgantown WV. Must have a clean driving record, current DOT physical, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random DOT drug testing. We only hire clean cut, professional drivers with reliable and consistent work history. That being said, we are willing to train if you're willing to learn and are a good fit. Need to be able to drive 10 speed and 13 speed transmission, operate a PTO and have air brake endorsement. Job is local so home everyday but will need to keep track of paperwork, fuel, and mileage. It's not a super physically demanding job but it's definitely not just driving. Will need to be on-site to get started by 430am depending on the run. Must live within 30-40 minutes from Weyers Cave, VA Schedule can be flexible depending on the situation. Average pay: $1600-2000/week depending on experience and work ethic. The truck we are looking to put a driver in is a 2004 Peterbilt 379 13 spd or 10 spd.
