Network Engineer - Harrisburg, PA

Job Summary: This role is on-site and responsible for supporting the organization’s computer systems, hardware and software and helping end users with technical issues submitted through the help desk. Duties and responsibilities: • Installs, configures, upgrades, and troubleshoots problems related to hardware, software, phones, and other equipment (e.g., printers) and systems. . Install and configure Digital Watchdog security systems • Troubleshoots Level 1 problems related to any aspect of network/telecommunications systems and PC’s. • Diagnose, tracks, resolves, and documents problems and resolutions. • Onboards new employees, issues equipment, and assists with workstation set-ups. Provisions system access and sets permission for employees based on department and position. • Supports end user training related to spam filtering. • Offboards employees; retrieves equipment, removes licenses and access from IT systems and business applications upon separation. • Uses internal and external knowledge bases and resources to research issues independently, escalate issues outside the technician’s level of knowledge and experience (including most server and networking issues, as appropriate) • Advises, trains, and assists users on how best to utilize systems. • Coordinates with outside IT consultants regarding systems and issues needing resolution. Qualifications: . Knowledge of Digital Watchdog security systems • Knowledge of iOS, Apple iPads, Square software and POS networks. • Knowledge of Windows 10/11 systems, Microsoft 365, email, and printers. • Ability to provide quality customer service and teamwork while managing multiple tasks and projects under competing deadlines. • Strong senses of discretion, urgency and confidentiality. • Knowledge of iOS, Apple iPads, Square software and POS networks. • Ability to monitor and edit website, as needed. • A knowledge of security systems, with substantial number of IP cameras and related network is a plus. • May be required to assist in the evening and/or weekends and travel occasionally. Will be required to work overtime hours at 4th of July and New Year’s Eve.

HotBed Technologies, Inc. is currently in search of experienced AV Engineers, data/voice cabling Installers, Project Managers, Purchasing reps, Pre-Sales engineers, Account Managers and installation subcontractors for our projects in the Northern VA, MD and the DC area. Installer positions available for working either as a full-time employees or by the hour, during normal working hours for ongoing projects we are involved in. AV Engineers should have hands on experience running AV cable, terminating connectors, mounting TV's and Projectors, installing speakers, mics, amps, mixers, control systems, programming, etc.. LV Installers: Experience with cabling projects for Cat6, fiber, coax cable required. Experience running and terminating Cat6 cable a requirement. Experience with punching down patch panels, jacks and testing also required. Should be able to operate a Hilti Gun for j-hooks and bundle consolidation and use a Fluke Tester. Fiber experience a plus. Full-time Installer positions will involve work during normal hours and at times after hours and on weekends. Must have your own basic tools and transportation. PT Installer weekly workload could be 20 to 40 hours to start with the goal of making this a full-time position over time. (Subcontracting companies also considered) PM's / Quoting: Experience overseeing crews that will be pulling cables, punching down patch panels, terminating jacks and Fluke testing is required. Experience ordering cable and equipment for these projects from distributors is also required. The ability to use MS Excel and MS Word for quote preparation is required. Ability to put together cabling as-builts and marked floorplans for quotes is also required. This supervisory position is a hands-on role for full-time employment. Sales - Seeking experienced account managers that have been selling AV, LV Cabling, Datacenter solutions, circuits, managed services, IT, and/or Hosted Voice, to commercial accounts. Pre-Sales Engineers should have experience conducting sales calls, designing AV and LV Systems, creating proposals in Excel, creating system diagrams is a plus, but not required. All: Experience with CCTV and Access Control Systems a plus. We are also in search of Account Managers with sales experience in the Commercial Low Voltage and Audio Visual space.
