UNIQUE band situation: "She Will Have Her Way" is looking for a new bass player. Two Female vocals, guitars and drums are trying to continue a unique band situation we've had going for years: We play VERY eclectic - and often obscure - female (usually) vocal harmony pop. On our list these days includes Grace Potter, Elizabeth and the Catapult, Haim, Pomplamoose, Carly Simon, KD Lang, Antigone Rising, Laurie Sargent, KT Tunstall, Linda Ronstadt, Over the Rhine, Cindy Lauper, Neko Case, Amy Helm, Lone Justice, Christina Aguilera, Brandi Carlisle (+ more!) (top of this this YouTube playlist is our current stuff; scroll down to see the incredible variety that's come and gone over the years) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duf-dofeoms&list=PL9348856B2AD75798 Our most recent show was last September. Here's a few clips from that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MpMRyceiFf8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KqDzH0jolPM https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBSb7FvQ__o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_7LkBNtn-Cc We like to play stuff that we have to work at; we like to get it right and play it close to the record (or whatever version w're copying). We rehearse twice a month, and are happy to play out 2 - 3 times a year. (Everyone's busy) Practice at home, show up to rehearse... Often we do someone else's re-arranged version, but do not rearrange stuff on our own, nor is that a goal. So it's all in support of the song and singers, and a chance to play stuff that few, if any other bands play. We're not a jam band. We're not a dance band. (Though anyone's welcome to get up!) We're all around (over?) 60. The ONLY reason to be in the band is you enjoy our repertoire and actually like to (be prepared to) rehearse. There's no money, few gigs, and marginal fame. All set up to play at my house in Swampscott. ; Mics, Monitors, amps. recording, fridge.
