Coast Veterinary Services is a locally owned, 9-doctor small animal practice in beautiful Scotts Valley, CA. We are proud to offer gold-standard veterinary medicine in a collaborative and well-supported environment. As our clinic continues to grow, we are looking for a compassionate, experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician to join our exceptional team. Position Overview: This role provides medical care in both daily appointments. Surgical skills prefered but not required. Ideal candidates will be experienced in the specific skills, team oriented, reliable, motivated, and passionate about providing outstanding care to both patients and their families. Primary Responsibilities: Perform safe and compassionate animal handling and restraint Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians Collect and process blood, urine, fecal, and other diagnostic samples Assist in radiology, ultrasound, and other imaging procedures Maintain accurate patient records and treatment notes Provide client education on animal care, medications, and preventive health Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and organization of hospital areas and equipment Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition (triage/emergency support) Collaborate effectively with veterinarians and support staff in a team environment Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills with clients Ideal but not required: Prepare patients, instruments, and equipment for surgery Monitor anesthesia and surgical recovery with attention to detail Perform dental cleanings and charting under veterinary supervision Potenital to grow into floor lead (coordinating rooming assistants) Requirements: Experience in responsibilites listed above and a minimum of 2 years veterinary work experience Excellent communication and organizational skills Positive, team-oriented attitude Passion for animal care and client support What We Offer: Competitive hourly wage Full-time schedule preferred (part-time considered for the right fit) Paid time off and sick leave Continuing education stipend Health insurance stipend, dental and vision coverage 401(k) retirement plan Generous employee pet care discounts A supportive team with low turnover and excellent morale Come work in a practice where you are valued, heard, and supported.
