POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a skilled and dependable Diesel Shop Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of diesel-powered trucks and trailers. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge, hands-on experience with diesel engines, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. A CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) is highly preferred but not required. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on diesel trucks and trailers - Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and tire rotations - Conduct safety inspections and ensure all equipment meets DOT and company standards - Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently - Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed - Keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations - Assist with emergency roadside repairs as needed - Communicate effectively with dispatch, drivers, and other shop staff REQUIREMENTS: Graduates of accredited diesel or technical training programs will be considered. - High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or diesel mechanic training preferred - 2+ years of experience in diesel truck maintenance and repair - Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Must provide own tools - Valid driver’s license required; CDL strongly preferred - Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: *CDL Class A *Experience with trailer refrigeration units (Thermo King, Carrier, etc.) *Familiarity with fleet maintenance software and DOT compliance protocols WE OFFER - Health Insurance Options and PTO ABOUT D-TRANS, LLC: D-Trans LLC is a full-service trucking and logistics company specializing in time-sensitive shipments and high-value cargo requiring advanced security measures.
