Location: Near the Intersection of Altura and Gateway South (Hwy 54) Neighborhood is called Government Hill. Address: 4102 Hastings Dr El Paso, TX 79903 This very central location is about as good as it gets: (according to Google Maps): To Fort Bliss via Cassidy Gate: 5 minutes UTEP 7 minutes El Paso Zoo and Botanical Gardens 6 minutes Texas Tech University 6 miutes La Nube Steam Discovery Center 7 minutes Costco (America's favorite store) 8 minutes El Paso Municipal Rose Garden Memorial Park, Library, Pool and Tennis Courts 4 minutes Plaza Theatre, El Paso Convention Center or El Paso Art Museum 8 minutes Scenic Drive (El Paso Overlook) 9 minutes Chamizal Monument/Ciudad Juarez 10 minutes El Paso Airport 10 minutes Cielo Vista Mall 12 minutes Whole Foods Market 13 minutes The location of this rental is about as perfect as it could be. You have excellent access to the major North/South Highway 54 as well as I-10 the largest freeway in West Texas that runs East/West the breadth of El Paso. Using these you can reach White Sands National Park, Carlsbad Caverns National Park, Las Cruces, Albuquerque, Blue Origin, White Sands Missile Range, Alamogordo, Ciudad Juarez in Chihuaha Mexico, Tucson, and more. This Studio is the basement of an existing home and bungalow at 4102 Hastings Dr. El Paso, TX. You have a private entry. Landlord will NEVER enter your apartment at any time without your advance permission (presumably to repair something). It will be your own private hideaway. You have access to a back yard with covered porch which includes a barbeque and picnic table. All utilities are furnished for you---water, electric, garbage, sewer, gas, Internet, and Internet-based TV networks. You have your own Minisplit Air Conditioner and Heater and your own remote control thermostat. You may receive mail and packages to this address. You will find only kind, cooperate helpful people living here. Landlord and his wife live in a house above this basement unit. Despite it being a basement, there are windows and it is light and airy--and yet--it is mostly below ground level which gives it a very calm and quiet atmosphere. I can only rent to a single person who needs a fully furnished home/personal headquarters in El Paso, or perhaps is moving into El Paso and needing a temporary place to live while they sort out more permanent housing or wait for household goods to arrive. Minimum rental period is 30 days. (Rental agreement will be Month-to-Month). This is a basement, and the ceiling is low in places. I am 6' and while I could and HAVE stayed in this unit, I would not rent to anyone taller than me, and I would prefer someone less tall. What is the rental rate? Let's start with just the rental fee for a fully furnished and equipped 850 square foot apartment: Rent of $650. Let's add just $100 for supplied utilities: Electric, Gas, Internet, Garbage, Water and Sewer (trust me, it would cost more than $250). So, the easy and logical monthly rate will be $750 for full rent AND utility charges. Refundable Security Deposit amount is $400. I have a strong preference for a single person. I will consider a couple on a case-by-case basis. Renting to 2 persons would be $100 additional with a $600 deposit. Are you still interested? I will ask you for a number of references and I will contact each of them. The application and approval process: You send me your application filled out--you may type your answers/information directly onto the application form (which is a word.doc) and simply attach it to an email. Or, fill it out by hand and scan and email to me. I do not check your credit, but I have access to law enforcement information---if you have a shady past, I will NOT rent to you--so don't waste your time if you don't have at least 3 impeccable references--work mates, supervisors, pastors, business partners, neighbors, etc. who will vouch for your good character, honesty, and diligence. If you are a decent person (like most folks) you will find me eminently reasonable, easy, and constructive to work with as a Landlord. I will usually need about 2-3days to fully process an application (and give you a YES or NO answer). If YES (which it probably would be) I will ask you for your fully refundable deposit of $250 to hold the unit for you. When you arrive to move in, you will pay remaining deposits and rent due.
