Senior Carpenter & Jobsite Manager (Seattle) Compensation: $45 - $50 Employment type: full-time Experience level: senior level Job title: Carpenter & Site Manager Salish Builders is a residential remodeling company looking for an enthusiastic and responsible carpenter-builder with initiative and skills to contribute to our team. We need someone who can manage common remodeling projects, including supervising a small team of intermediate and entry level employees. Starting hourly wage ($45 - $50/hr), depends on experience and tools. Reviews and raises at 90 days. Almost all our projects are in Seattle, typically on older homes. We are offering 20 - 30hrs at the moment and planning to increase to full-time with the right person. We also welcome working with independently licensed and insured 1099 operators. The ideal candidate will have thorough knowledge of the typical steps in kitchen, bath, and basement remodels and be able to complete most of them, such as demolition, framing, cabinetry, casing, weatherization, windows & doors, and siding. Requirements: -Minimum 8 yrs experience -Initiative, problem solving, and self management -Good communication skills, neat appearance, and punctuality -Able to report regularly and effectively -Comfortable working on a team of two or three as well as alone -Cell phone, appropriate tools, and reliable transportation -Able to plan, organize, schedule, prioritize, and take direction -Workmanship and attention to detail -Organized and Thoughtful - we work in homes where clients are in residence, so cleanliness and orderliness are a must **Drug free and a non smoker (at the jobsite)** **No racism, No Trump** Essential Responsibilities and Skills: -Framing of walls, rough openings, and stairs. Able to cut stair stringers. Roof framing a plus. -Knowledge of common code requirements regarding railings, egress, load bearing, and fasteners. -Hanging doors & windows (flashing detail and weatherization knowledge is critical) -Trimming doors and windows in a variety of styles (coping skills a plus) -Installing shingle & beveled siding; able to finish inside and outside corners -Mounting cabinetry with accuracy on uneven floors and walls -Reading architectural drawings Please respond by email with a short letter describing your work history and why you might be a good match.
