San Francisco Baking Institute is hiring a new team member. This role will primarily work in a bakery kitchen with a small team of bakers. Ideal candidates will have commercial bread baking experience and good communication skills. Fluency in English and Spanish is preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee production of bread, Viennoiserie and pastry for our retail bakeries. • Produce bread, Viennoiserie and pastry according to the formulas and schedule • Follow the formula and production protocol explicitly, carefully weigh and measure all ingredients as specified • Maintain product quality, troubleshoot when issue arises • Coordinate with other team members to create a daily plan and timeline • Communicate with Store Manager to find out and meet their needs • Always be on the lookout for ways to improve efficiency • Maintain a clean and organized space during production Position requirements: Baker / Lead Baker • Able to clearly communicate with other team members • Has experience and knowledge to mix, divide, shape and bake yeasted and sourdough bread and Viennoiserie • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds, multiple times a day • Ability to stand on your feet while working Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday, 3am-11:30am or 4am-12:30pm. Must be available to work during holidays. Benefits: PTO, health insurance Transportation: Must provide your own transportation, driving is recommended. No public transportation is available in the early morning hours.
