Position Title: Home Delivery Assistant (Newspaper Delivery) Status: Full-time (35+ hours weekly) Starting Compensation: $18.54/hr. + 62 1/2 cents per mile + $500 bonus after 90 days of employment Hours: Must be available Sunday - Friday, approximately 12 am - 8 am (35+ hours/week). Off 2 days Per Week, Saturday and either Monday, Tuesday or Thursday. About this role: This position serves to assist with newspaper delivery, complaints, and customer service supporting distribution centers and district managers. What you'll do: Deliver newspaper routes when contractors are unavailable using a personal vehicle. Prepare and submit weekly log of hours and mileage. Assist with the delivery of special products. Assist District Manager with customer and/or carrier calls as well as daily office tasks. Other duties as assigned. What you'll contribute to our team: Be at least 18 years of age. Have a valid driver's license, personal reliable vehicle, and proof of car insurance. Ability to read a street map/GPS. Problem-solving skills. Excellent customer service skills. Be willing to work in all weather conditions. Work without direct supervision. Be physically able to deliver newspapers to customers door. Overview: We are looking for reliable Delivery Drivers to support our Wellness & Grocery Program. The Driver will be responsible for picking up and dropping off items while adhering to assigned routes, time schedules, and safety guidelines, keeping customer experience top of mind. Delivery Drivers are polite and prompt, with a commitment to providing our clients with an excellent experience. The FareRx Grocery Program prepares and delivers fresh groceries to members of the Philadelphia community. The position will give you experience with sustainable and local food supply chain and distribution operations. You will need transportation to our Headquarters in Philadelphia daily. From there, you will pickup a delivery van (Ford Transit or similar) which you will take out on your route for the day. Deliveries are made to Philadelphia, Delaware, Bucks, Montgomery, and Chester Counties. Our team will plan the routes for you and you will be provided with access to our routing and delivery app that will map out your schedule for the day. Most drivers will deliver between 25-40 bags per day depending on the distance to your first customer. **Please note that no tips are to be expected or taken from the customers that drivers are delivering to. I pay 25% of the load if you do what you’re supposed to do you will make money with me trust me I understand how it is out there I’m a driver myself. And there’s no forced dispatch every load will be discussed with the driver before dispatched. I have a OTR position you will almost always be home to do you 34hr reset unless something crazy happens I don't try to over work the drivers I try to make sure all my drivers get home time to see and enjoy their families every weekend to handle their personal affairs. If you run hard you can do well and make about $1700-$1800 with me but its completely up to you as the driver you get what you put in my but most of my drivers tend to average between $1300-$1600 per week not killing themselves 1099. Times are tough in the trucking industry and rates have been fluctuating but slowly improving but I am honest and fair and I don't lie about anything and your money is direct deposited in your account every Friday on time. A lot of companies in this industry have earned the reputation of being liars and over promising pay that never hits the drivers account I don’t do any of that.
