Our 1929 Ford Model A Woody Wagon is equipped with a manual 3-speed transmission and a standard 4-cylinder flathead engine, factory rated at 40 HP. This vehicle was purchased locally and is in very good condition, both mechanically and visually. It was restored years ago and still shows very well. I have a full set of side curtains in very good condition. Although it was not uncommon to see wood bodied Fords prior to 1929, it was actually the first year it was available as a body style from Ford, credited to Edsel Ford who desired such a vehicle for his estates in Michigan and Maine. Designs were drawn to Edsel’s request, and body production entrusted to Murray Corporation of America in Detroit, one of Fords principal body suppliers. The wood came from Henry Ford's forests at Iron Mountain, in Michigan's northern peninsula. This was high quality Maple, with Birch plywood used for the panels. Whether you’re a collector of classic cars or simply an admirer of vintage design this Model A Woody is ready for the countryside or the beach. Sold with a clean Vermont title. Inspection welcomed and encouraged. $21,500
